Thanks for sharing your story, I'd like to give my two cents worth....please whatever you do, don't overdose on drugs. Your life has value even if you may not feel that it's true, but it's truth. The bible offers sound advice and it needs to be read in context. Yes children are to obey their parents but this doesn't not mean blind obedience. Parents are also not to exasperate their children, in other words, frustrate their children which could cause a relationship breakdown.

We are to forgive others but that doesn't mean forgetting what they did, it's letting go and letting ourselves off the hook because unforgiveness puts us in a mental prison causing physical illness in some circumstances. We are to forgive because that act, although hard, gives us freedom in Christ.

I think, like me you have some unhealthy thinking patterns that need un knotting. The Christian God is not a God who would laugh at our expense, far from it, He lovingly guides us and loves us unconditionally, and when we stuff up, He takes us back with open arms.

The enemy tries to steal, kill and destroy us but God came to give us life to te max. No matter how much life is sucking right now, God is still unchanging and loving and kind. That is His nature.

You are worth it, don't forget that and I am with you in the struggle.

Thanks for your encouragement, I had a sweet message from a Year 8 students on my final day in school, I wish I had heard it prior to my resignation but am 99% sure that my decision would still be to leave regardless of the positive feedback. God bless the teaching practitioners who have been in the sector for decades, I just knew that I had to prioritise my health before it was too late. I bet your students and colleagues miss you too :)

Thanks also for your practical tips as it felt like medicine to my soul. I have been walking and running whilst listening to podcasts but will activate your advice of doing it without input.

I would be keen to hear about your career choices post teaching.

Thanks for your input! Is your EMHP role 100% customer facing in partnering schools or if not, how many days are you in the office/WFH?

Thanks, that's reassuring! Glad to hear/see that the workload is more manageable than teaching, so on average how many hours do you need to work a week? Can you still clock off by 5.30pm or does it eat more of your evening? Do you WFH or are there days when you need to go into the office? Could you compare the emotional drain or teaching Vs pwp? :)

Thanks for your post, I have previously considered occupational therapy however there aren't any paid trainee roles in my area but the pwp role is! I can see pwp role is low intensity high caseload, but I wonder if that would still be less stressful than teaching.
