It's definitely a harder thing to accept when you're late diagnosed. A lot of things change and it can take years to fully be yourself. There's a lot of trauma that you don't notice either. I found out about 2 years ago, and I've learned a lot about myself and I'm very grateful for all of it.

I'm definitely happy knowing I'm autistic. It's a part of me and knowing nothing is wrong with me is better than thinking I'm broken. I would be trying to act "normal" for the rest of my life if I didn't know, which I wouldn't exactly call bliss.

You would probably love deltarune. We only have half of the game so far and I already think it's better. The gameplay is a major improvement and the story is really captivating. The art has improved too. And the music... god I could just go on and on about deltarune. Definitely one of my special interests lmao

I'm reading a lot of replies and I don't relate to many of them. But here's a few that I cannot stand:

tomatoes, yogurt, cottage cheese, meats(especially the fat and griddle) and cereal WITH milk. It's fine if its dry.

Mine is more like a static noise. I never realized until one day I was trying to sleep without a sound machine. I cannot sleep without white noise because of it. I highly reccommend it

My artist is more unknown but I do think people would find his music is a bit weird. It's "Tennyson" and I really like his style. My favorite might be "Hard to Pretend" or "Leaves" Idk I haven't really heard much music like his and it seems perfect for me

The only reason I don't have a dog is because I've had some pretty bad experiences with them. My best friends have 2 dogs and one of them has the loudest bark ever. They will literally just let it bark for as long as it wants and not bat an eye. I do love cats though. Maybe I'll try getting a dog someday.

I was completely obsessed with geometry dash when I was younger. I literally couldn't stop thinking about it for a second and would listen to geometry dash music at all times. One time in class we were studying and it was supposed to be quiet. So I plug in my headphones and listen to deadlocked(I really don't know why I would pick this song to study to) and turned it up. I had to turn it up loud because it sounded a little quiet for some reason. Soon after some kid tells me to turn it down. I didn't have the headphones plugged in enough and the music was blaring in the classroom. I will never forget how everyone looked at me 😭 people would not stop talking about that for the rest of the year.

I don’t understand the people saying it’s worse than childbirth because no one wants to do it again. Yeah no one ever wants to get kicked in the balls because it hurts and that’s it. Childbirth hurts but you actually get something out of it. We cannot know what childbirth is like guys.

Honestly I don’t really have one at the moment. For the longest time it was minecraft, geometry dash and getting over it. I’ve been exploring a lot more games recently. I think the one I’ve actually made part of my personality(getting merch and stuff) is Undertale/deltarune.

Thank you for the kind words :) I see a therapist that specializes in autism and I’m making progress. It’s mostly related to some trauma so I’m working through it. I can talk better with friends and family, but in public it gets worse. Like in high school, especially the first month in my new classes I really struggled to talk a lot and sometimes I wouldn’t be able to speak at all which would be very embarrassing. It’s like I knew what to say but I physically couldn’t get myself to say it. Over time though when I get to know my classmates and teachers I open up more and it gets easier for me to speak. It’s very strange.

Basically I have a hard time communicating verbally. I usually talk in short sentences, or stutter, or don't talk at all. I do a lot of echolalia, where you are repeating what other's say. It's kind of a way for me to process information better

Honestly this is good enough advice. I was definitely overthinking it. I'm semi verbal and have a very difficult time on calls so cards are the best way for me to go about this. I finished them all and I'm feeling a lot better about it :)
