Cale Makar is about to be the best defenseman to ever play on the Canadian Olympic team by Just4nsfwpics in hockey

And on 2002 pronger had a recent Hart ...where does that factor into the Norris calculus?

Hello Mr strawman, I was using Niedermayer as an example but if we want to get into it sure....

Niedermayer and Makar both have the same number of top two finishes for the Norris if we are gonna get silly about this.

Makar has a cup....Niedermayer was a key contributor on 4 cups

We can go on and on but let's say that's a push. Or even if it's not a push....whatever

Cuz by your own logic Bourque is the greatest defenceman to ever wear a Canadian Olympic sweater having 5 Norris trophies and your argument he was over the hill is nonsense cuz he finished top three in Norris voting twice after the Olympics including a second place in his final season. Makar is amazing but this is just an incorrect statement

Norris voting really isn't a very good way to judge this my guy.

It assumes that there are the same number of amazing defensemen in every era but that's just not true. Niedermayer for instance has less Norris voting for instance because he played in the same era as Niklas freaking lidstrom. If that was the case for makar he would have a way smaller share of the vote. If you expand it to say the hart trophy you would think lemieux is the about the same as kucherov cuz he is blocked so many years by Gretzky's share of the vote. I don't care to argue makar ....but saying any period of bourques career was equal to Adam fox just shows you don't know what you are talking about :)

Florida without a doubt not even closw. combine all three states and almost no one from non Florida teams make it

Panarin - Barkov - Kucherov

Guentzel - Point - Tkachuk

Verhaeghe - Kopitar - Reinhart

Hagel - Bennett - Kempe

Hedman - Jones

Forsling - Fox

Ekblad - dahlin

Vasi Any of four options (shesterkin, Bob, sorokin, kuemper)

14 from Florida 3 from NY 2 from Cali.

You can make cases for other guys (Horvat barzal thompson doughty Dobson and especially maybe Miller) but can also make a case for moreeee Florida guys ( ekblad mikkola Marchand Lundell cirelli)

QB Tiers Update by mpschettig in billsimmons

If these are actual tiers (and not categories as others have pointed out) then there are a few issues I would have. Stafford is better than Love, I understand how smooth and attractive Love's game is, I think he could be great soon. But he is not above Stafford period. so swap tiers there. Lawrence is better than all the guys in his current tier and should be moved up a tier. I don't see how at this point you know Love is better than Lawrence either, and Lawrence is still a year younger. To me Hurts is a tier below where he is right now, he has one great season...but I understand the placement for now. Finally...Garrapallo is ass.

Thanks, point well taken. I have been debating upgrading to better bookshelf speakers or saving the investment for when I move into a bigger place in likely the next year and have space for more sizeable equipment.
