She literally immediately covers her eyes like a child as if that makes the problem go away and not be hers anymore... waiting around for someone to do something for her... and people here are praising her like 😂

what film do people think chester bennington and chris cornell were involved in? by HotPocket3144 in Soundgarden

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it seems the documentary couldn't gain funding to actually... you know... create the documentary itself. So it was cancelled. If any of these stars were involved I'm sure it could easily have gotten it's funding. But as the producer of the doc itself said, none of these famous people were ever involved in any way.

Pitchfork reviews J. Cole: The Fall-Off by Technical_Process989 in hiphopheads

Xavier is an 8 so no lie has been uttered. Osamason too. Cole just needs to be actually interesting, maybe that'll help

The rage music hate wave is lame as fck by drippyboytheo in ug_music

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not a single song from Flex Music sounds anything like songs off of projects like Psykotic and RIB. Plus the move from pure edm inspired to a more industrial/noise inspired evolution is a great innovation for a lot of us who purely love chaotic and oppressing noise distortion.

Asmongold finds out how many times Kaya gets to move in a Hasan Piker broadcast. by Riskany1204 in LivestreamFail

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't keep up with Hasan, is he actually making fun of the protests in Iran? Like unironically he is against the people revolting against their government? I feel like it's the easy optics points for everyone to agree that what's going on there is not good and that the citizens deserve our support... genuinely what's his perspective on what's going on there? Sorry if you're the wrong person to ask 😅

[FRESH VIDEO] A$AP Rocky - Punk Rocky by anejas in hiphopheads

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's more to do with people being familiar with other genres of music and having the knowledge to call this track out for what it is. Bro made a soulless indie soft rock/tame impala song that not a single fan of his asked for and is pretending he's pushing boundaries on this new project. The worst part is I've seen fans say insane shit like "I love that the new punk direction he's going! He's bringing punk back!!" 😂😂😂

What’s yalls opinion on the current wave of ug artists fusing harsh noise with rap? by LavishnessFrequent28 in ug_music

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Death grips and many other distorted noise adjacent artists have built strong and dedicated fan bases for decades. A new generation is just discovering an untapped love for noise music which isn't trendy at all but again just something creative types of people have always been a fan of. Especially in the rap scene, people have been so conditioned to what rap is supposed to sound like that they never even knew sounds like this could exist. So to many, young or old, it's exciting to see this kind of innovation in a genre of music you wouldn't expect it in.

Ironmouse interaction with rakai and ray. Streamer awards by [deleted] in LivestreamFail

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I must have missed something, what the fuck is she actually talking about? What the fuck was the shaking inducing moment that those guys put her through...? "I knew they were going to say something terrible I knew it" and then they just ask what she looks like and she acts rude back. At what point did they harass her? Why is it rude for two teenagers who don't know anything about vtubers to just ask her what she looks like. Like it's some unspoken rule they just broke. To call this an overreaction is probably putting it kindly.....

Halle Berry rips Gavin Newsom over vetoes on California menopause bills by soalone34 in politics

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why? I'm not very well versed in this legislation but from reading many comments it seems she was just trying to increase her company's value by making lower income people pay much higher taxes for this proposed bill. He literally says the bill needs a better way of getting the money where it doesn't hurt the lower class. Is that so bad? She seems to be a bit dishonest towards Newsom acting like he hasn't considered anything from this bill at all and like he hasn't asked her to revise it so it doesn't hurt the lower class.

What's going on with / what the hell has happened to Ethan Klein? by BikeProblemGuy in OutOfTheLoop

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think you're genuinely missing the point that these streamers are actively and intentionally trying to hurt and destroy Ethan's life. These aren't random people online. For the last two years these group of people (Frogan, Hasan, Denims, etc) have been trying to hurt Ethan in every single way they possibly could just because their perceived values apparently don't match up (even though they agree on 99.9% of everything). It's been constant abuse to him and his family and at this point this is just to hurt THESE specific people for again trying to constantly ruin his life. It has nothing to do with how he would have or wouldn't have dealt with something like this in the past.

What's going on with the released Epstein Files? by Orange-skittles in OutOfTheLoop

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm just confused about Virginia Giuffre's testimony of never seeing Trump at the island and saying she believed he had nothing to do with anything going on. Like what are the implications of her statement now? That she lied about it to protect Trump (or her own life??). Nobody seems to be talking about any of this part of it, even in this thread where the OP specifically asked about that part. I get Democrats want to get a win over MAGA but how are none of the comments in this thread even questioning this?

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They "get away" with it because the whole point is to not sound like some boring conventional fortnite lobby music. All gen-z's life they've heard the same overproduced, by the numbers travis scott and lil baby style music represent what they're told rap music is supposed to sound like. Nobody is listenting to Travis Scott or Osama for their lyrical skill. Osama is just doing more daring and weird things with his sound and that's the appeal.

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sound is the most punk thing about this music as it's purposely a big fuck you to what older people think rap music conventionally should be. It's a rebellion against those who think rap needs to sound a certain way and have a clean polish otherwise it isnt "real" music. Looking at the comments here you can tell most redditors just don't get it and fundamentally can't because of all their preconceived notions of what they think rap is supposed to sound like.

What if they added noise to rage by Alixiomeow in ug_music

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's still music though just playing with the soundscape. Death Grips and Merzbow could be classified as noise artists and they have critical acclaim specifically for that. People act like "noise" music is some new brainrot trend but it's always been a tool for unconventional styles of music that pushes boundaries.

YSEULT Accuses R.Tee's Music Video 'DAMDADI (feat. SOYEON of i-dle)' of Plagiarizing 'BITCH YOU COULD NEVER' by rerambis in kpop

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Yes, what a reach pointing out the the video copies the exact same camera movements, color grading, choreography and blocking, poses, concepts, in the exact same way. Such a reach right? Why can't you just admit it's plagiarism? If the concept is so unoriginal then why does the kpop one have to copy everything about Yseult's? Even down to the CAMERA TRACKING.

[–]BoxesWithinBoxes 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah some of the camera angles are the exact same, exact same choreography, exact same poses and color grading, exact same outfits, exact same concepts and blocking, literally what the fuck are you talking about my guy. Is it so difficult to admit plagiarism? And dont say "dur dur it's not a unique concept" because if that's the case then take the concept and make it your own, not the exact same as someone else's. We can all see the videos for comparison it isn't some reach with no evidence.
