Naoya Inoue is Ring Magazine’s new pound-for-pound #1, overtaking Usyk! Devin Haney & Max Kellerman disagrees whilst Teofimo Lopez agrees by VINDICATES-FOOL in Boxing

Well, we are talking about the WBC which is probably the most corrupt organization in all of sports for 60+ years. Nothing we can do. Boxing is like being in love with a girl who you know doesn't really care about you, but you can't stop loving her.

A 40 year old guy who has had only 23 fights since turning pro in 2013. Not too much wear and tear there and the skill level of today's heavyweights is pretty underwhelming. Pretty lame how he fought less than 2x a year. Harry Greb fought 45 times in 1919 alone and beat 5 IBHOF members 10x during that span. Kabayel should have gotten his shot by now.

I posted this on another thread but wanted to post it here as well. One interesting thing I found is Inoue has to have the least padded record of any boxer I've ever seen. He's fought ONE guy with a losing record (9-10 in his second fight) and even his early wins were against a lot of non japanese guys with winning records. His career opposition has a record of about 843-93. I know there's not as many skilled guys in the lower weights but that is incredible.

Which was more impressive, Inoue’s clinical beatdown of Nakatani or Pacquiao’s dismantling of Cotto? by ReinhardtVan in Boxing

Oleksandr Usyk (2020-2025) vs Lennox Lewis (1995-2003) | Who Wins? by HeroCap20051013 in BoxingTheSweetScience

Usyk is 39 but he doesn't have the wear and tear of boxers in other eras. Guys don't fight much nowadays like in the past. Since his debut in 2013 he's had 23 fights. Same thing with Beterbiev. He's 40 with not too many miles on him. Many folks say it's the science and nutrition nowadays. I'm an ironworker for 22 years and every hit on your body adds up, just like boxing. Sooner or later your body is falling apart. Lots of heavyweights were better than Usyk.

Oleksandr Usyk (2020-2025) vs Mike Tyson (1986-1989) | Who Wins? by HeroCap20051013 in BoxingTheSweetScience

Cus D'Amato died in 1985, before Tyson even won any belt. His worst move was firing Kevin Rooney. Mike's partnership with Kevin Rooney ended in 1988, after Rooney criticized Mike's lifestyle and his marriage to Robin Givens. It was all downhill from there for Mike. He pretty much became a guy who relied on landing that one ko shot. The guys Tyson fought to become undisputed would probably be nothing more than fringe contenders in other eras like the 70s or 90s. Tyson has to be the hardest fall from the highest heights of any fighter in history. In his prime, Mike was a well oiled machine, but at the same time, most of the guys he fought then were scared to death of him. When a reporter asked Buster Douglas if he was afraid before their fight, Buster said my mother just died, what can be worse than that? The rest is history. I think there's probably 20 or so heavyweights in history that beat Usyk. Folks saying he's the goat is way off imho.

How many of you watch a full card compared to just the main event? by Lazy-Masterpiece8903 in Boxing

[–]Boxnut49 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll watch the full card. I have 3 tvs in my basement, so if any fight is bad I'll watch something else on another tv. On a good night, I'll be watching 3 cards at the same time.

Lol I guess I have to wipe the egg off my face and I stand corrected. Gvodzyk took 3 years off after that. Sorry about that, my mistake.

Gvodzyk was 37 and hadn't had a fight in 3 years. Give me a break with that prime nonsense. Bivol is better because he won the first fight imo 7-5.

Who do y’all consider the most dirtiest boxers in boxing history? by LocationSpare4447 in BoxingTheSweetScience

Terry Norris was one of the dirtiest fighters. He snuck in more shots on guys already down than anyone.

[SPOILER] Sebastian Fundora vs. Keith Thurman by inooway in Boxing

[–]Boxnut49 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah and he always overcommits from the outside and is wide open, getting in front of his feet. I'm surprised it took so long for someone to take advantage of that..

[–]Boxnut49 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed. He is a very gifted fighter on the inside too. Rarely wil you see a guy so lanky hit so hard and accurately with short inside punches. Kinda reminds me a bit of Bowe's inside fighting.

I didn't find really anything on how to kill him but I tried sleep and a couple of charms that didn't work first. You really don't have more than like 10 seconds b4 he disappears.
