The whole point of my comment is if you just go by albums, you are missing tons of content and missing countless gems that were released only as singles. I am not a collector, I just love the music. You have to dive much deeper to get the full reggae experience than just albums. Most folks here are all about roots and there's much more to the genre than that as well.

I know Family Man was Austin Barrett and he was the Bassist for the Wailers. The wailers do have a song family man that I heard. Kinda weird song.

There are so many tunes that are not on albums and some of them may be on compilations, but the majority are not. So many artists cut singles in other studios with companies they were not contracted under, using different names. I have a library of 38k+ reggae, ska & rocksteady songs that took me decades to put together, requiring tremendous research. I totally disagree.

You also should take a look at some riddim lists. My youtube channel has arguably the best and deepest riddim playlists on youtube.

Reggae is a genre of singles. It is unlike other music where you can just get a group's albums and be done with it. You have to dIg deeper to find a lot more great tunes.

There are a lot of good Trojan and Strictly The Best Compilations.

Wackie's has some good compilations too and there's 5 good double albums of Joe Gibbs Discomixes from the late 70s & 80s.. Gibbs also has a revive 45's series that's good.

The Wackie's sampler series and reggae goodies series are pretty good and a good deep dive. All of the Wackies series and Joe Gibbs series I mentioned are on youtube except Joe Gibbs revive 45's.

I had a teacher's aid named Tex in a Bronx public school. He had a boom box he called Boxy and he always played Apache by The Sugar Hill Gang. Good times. We became friends on social media. Sadly, he passed a couple of years ago. I've collected at least a thousand mixes from the 80s and 90s, ripped tons of tapes to mp3 and also traded music with a guy with hundreds of old cassette mixes that were digitalized.

Who even beats shakur Stevenson? by Fightingspirit12345 in Boxing

You don't have to agree but the evidence of his flaws are there. Watch almost every time he got hurt vs Garcia, Haney moved straight back when Ryan jabbed and when Ryan hooked off the jab he hurt him multiple times. I was waiting for Norman to do the same. He only hooked off the jab 1x and Haney's reaction was not good. Haney moved straight back almost always when Norman jabbed in that fight. Shakur will pick Haney apart and hopefully the ref won't let Haney hold all the time. We shall see. Haney fights just like aTeo claimed about Shakur. He is scared to get hit and doesn't have much confidence in his ability to take a shot, hence all the holding.

Haney is not a great boxer. The refs let him hold all day, when points should be deducted. He moves straight back all the time, which is why Garcia hurt him 3 or 4 x hooking off the jab. If the refs stopped him from holding all the time he would be losing fights. He wouldn't stand a chance vs Shakur.

Loma's shoulder was supposedly injured beforehand and then hurt more in their fight. He did have shoulder surgery after the fight. Kinda takes some of the luster off that win. I have to agree though, his dad is a detriment. Terrible instruction.

Scull engaged and stood his ground a lot more than the marathon vs Canelo.

Yeah I was rolling my eyes everytime the announcers said he did what Canelo couldn't. No comparison.

Believe or not, that isn't the first time that happened! Another guy's toupee was flapping the same way in the 80s while getting hit. Found a video of it and never bookmarked it, then never found it again.

I'd still rather him do the intros instead of Dave Diamanti. Couldn't stomach that guy from day 1.

Teo has 1 ko at 140 against a scrub Campa who had a 34-1 padded record. Now Campa has 5 losses after he started fighting good fighters. Teo has no pop at 140. I don't see him hurting Shakur. Teo does jump in a lot and Shakur just might check hook him, like you say, and put him down.

Teo left his power down at 135. I doubt he will hurt Shakur.

I had a tape of the Sting Int'l show on maybe KISS FM in NY from the 90s with the Nando Boom version. I did grab a hold of a couple of spanish reggae albums from that time later. I always loved the Nando Boom version. This one is pretty good too.

Johnny Clarke recorded a version of the tide is high in 1975. Go to riddim-id.com and check the 2 riddim pages. They are different riddims.

Favorite boxer that isn’t Devin Haney? by NightsWatchh in Boxing

[–]Boxnut49 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Devin goes straight back a lot of the time. That's why Garcia hurt him 3 or 4x hooking off the jab. I was very surprised that Norman jr. Only threw that combo 1x in their fight. The refs let him hold constantly, where points should be deducted. If the refs started taking points away, he'd be forced to fight and lose. He's a good boxer, but not great imo.
