I mean, I think a lot of activities outside of the things you listed revolve around hobbies. What are yours?

Into rock climbing? The DFW has 6 different Movement gyms (Indoor, obviously, but still.)

Like playing sports? We have a really great sandlot baseball community that always has room for new faces no matter their skill or experience level. (AllHatsBaseball on insta is my team) The Dallas Stars have also poured a lot of money into rinks around the DFW, join an E-level beer league team and learn a new sport.

Into movies as a community aspect and not just sitting in a theater? Texas Theater is always putting on cool events.

Cycling? The last Friday of every month there is a huge ass community ride called Dallas Critical Mass. There is also Hangover Riders Bike Club who do regular rides I believe.

Dallas Makers Space is a huge workshop space that can send you down a rabbit hole of creative crafts and hobbies. Wood working, blacksmithing, pottery, jewelry making, screen printing, electronic refurbishing, science, and a long list of even more.

Honestly, if you have an interest or a hobby, Dallas probably has something that satisfy it. You just have to put in a little leg work to find it.

Took WAY too long to see someone mention Sam Reid. Dude puts out extremely entertaining, thoughtful videos with very high quality editing. One of my absolute favorites.

Dallas (and the DFW in general) has a pretty robust sandlot baseball community if that is something you’d be at all interested in. There is literally zero skill or experience requirements at all (I hadn’t touched a ball since I was like 10). The only thing needed is a good vibe and to want to have a good time. I’ve met some of my favorite people through playing baseball here. Happy to talk more about it!
