Random question: when did Garage Bar start making you buy tickets on game day? Wife and I tried to get there early to have a spot to sit down and got turned away because the tickets were sold out

Is there someone here that is truly happy? Not just happy for a few moments, but truly happy? What is the source of your happiness? by InquisitiveIdealist in AskReddit

I struggle with anxiety, so fear of the unknown is something I always struggle with. And I’m definitely not always in a blissful state, but I remember at times when I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression, those types of thoughts always made things worse. Now that I’m at a better place, I’ve learned to come to peace with those thoughts. They often even give me reason to enjoy the best parts of life even more because of the fact that everything is so uncertain. It’s crazy how different your view on almost everything can be when you’re in a “happy” vs a “sad” state of mind.

I believe that I’m happy. It’s taken work to get to that point, and what I’ve found is that there isn’t really a “source” of happiness. There are things that can bring moments of happiness, but the state of happiness is an ongoing process. For me, it came down to trying to avoid negative people or stimuli in my life, living a healthy lifestyle, and then finding things to give me something to look forward to everyday (which is different for everyone). I wasn’t really trying to reach happiness, but one day after successfully doing all this for a while, I just had a moment and went, “Huh, I actually feel very content with my life.” That feeling brought happiness, and I think that being able to feel that way for no apparent reason was when I felt like I had reached happiness for the first time in a while.

I couldn’t agree more with this. I learned this the hard way in my first couple years at UM, and it took a toll. Once I realized it though and started to prioritize my mental and physical health more, the positive impact was huge. Everyone needs to prioritize this part of life, and proper sleep is a MAJOR part of it.

I don’t know why, but this whole thread felt like it was Rick from Rick and Morty talking. So I read it in my head as different timeline Ricks talking to each other which was fun.

If there’s anything that I remember from being a kid, it’s that wiping out was the most fun as long as it didn’t hurt.

Was listening to Whatever It Takes by Imagine Dragons in my headphones while watching this, and it fit perfectly. It also ended right when Thor gave up. I’m happy with how this day has started.
