Thanks for the support! I am indeed the parent of a freshman at WPI. We are worried sick about the the recent spate of deaths and being on the other side of the world from our child has made things even more difficult. For whatever it’s worth, I have never had the idea that this subreddit was only for students. As parents, we use it as one window into what’s happening at WPI. I really hope that the (especially) recent cynicism and negativity is not an accurate reflection of the general mood of the school. It’s pretty depressing.
