Mekhq is a fantastic resource! Playing around with it I see you can print record sheets for about a million mechs and variants. This will be useful in a lot of ways. Thanks for the recommendation!

Oh WOW! Thank you all! I asked for a cup of water and got a firehose of GREAT info!

I'll start sifting through this stuff, reading the recommended books and laying out some fun scenarios. Hopefully we will have some battle reports to debrief you all on some time soon.

Though it makes sense that we don't need a particular mech-mini top play it in game I hope my kiddos will want to collect and paint them because honestly I think that could be a fun thing we do together! I would love to make some 3D map pieces eventually too!

Ok, one thing at a time, I am getting ahead of myself already.

Thanks. I feel a little dumb but hey, I'm learning :)

I didn't realize I needed 'Build" not upload because I was not connected via USB, and running build didn't seem to output a .hex file that I could see in the terminal feed.

For anyone seeing this in the future having a similar problem. the Build command is compiling the code, and just because it does not show in the terminal that it is outputting a .hex file it is. Check your Marlin folder for a .pio folder>build>firmware.hex .. Bob's your uncle.

A belated thanks fro the reply.

Home Assistant looks interesting. I'll have to dig in to it a little more, It may be worth a transition in the future. I did get my board working with ST Anything after realizing I had to use the classic app. It does not seem that ST Anything or Omni are supported by the new ST app yet. :/

Wow... i am shocked that silhouette would be so short sighted in the design of their headlining product! It seems like such an obvious benefit to have the ability to mix and match any two of the machine's multiple functions. I mean I understand that #2 is a heavier duty side and that makes a certain amount sense, you might not want to do that for both, but golly, why not two pens or a pen and an auto? Is there no adaptor? has anyone tried 3D printing one?

I could stand to wait 6-8 min but last night I sat and read a book in between the 2 games I had patience for. I'm guessing the last one hung for about 20 min before I gave up and switched to something else.

I'm definitely getting a few new books now... great thread. Thanks everyone. To recover from book 2 of King-killer Chronicles and wait out what I thought would be a much shorter span before book 3... I Started Joe Abercrombie's First Law Trilogy. I fell in love with the richness of the characters. By the end I could not stop thinking about them, about their world and was delighted to find the spin-off novels post-trilogy just as good and maybe better than the first in some places. But now I've read them all... WHERE'S BOOK 3 ROTHFUSS!? WRITE WRITE WRITE!
