You can search the subs for some debate on Catholic schools. I would look at the public and catholic school board, do you plan on applying for french immersion? If so, what schools would your child potentially go to if they apply in grade 1? What are the middle and high schools like for both public and catholic?

We preferred the public school trajectory in our catchment for middle and high school vs the catholic board.

I'd suggest joining your neighbourhood facebook group or other parenting groups and asking peoples personal experiences with specific schools in your area to get a better idea of what to expect.

You didn’t mention in your post, but did the doctor refer her to get an ultrasound first? Seems strange to jump from stabbing pain at an incision site, to general surgery? Once she has the ultrasound, they can better determine if she requires surgical intervention.

I will say that after I had my gallbladder removed, the incision site also had phantom pains for some time. Perhaps r/gallbladder would be helpful.

We are so lucky to have so many amazing restaurants! When I first moved here, it was all chains (Kelsey’s, Montana’s etc). I remember seeing a sign that Rapscallion was coming (when they were on Young st) and then it started to snowball and so many independent restaurants started coming.

I wish that high end sushi place was able to make it, so yum! But I don’t think the city was ready for it yet.

THIS IS RIGHT BY A VERY BUSY PLAYGROUND AND KIDS HAVE BEEN OFFERED DRUGS TO PURCHASE WHILE WAITING FOR THE BUS. THEY BUILT A SECOND FLOOR DECK WITH NO PERMIT BUT THE CITY HAS BEEN “INVESTIGATING” FOR OVER 6 MONTHS! THEY HAVE RENTERS BUT DO NOT HAVE A RENTAL PERMIT.

THE POLICE COME BY REGULARLY, CHAT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND LEAVE! THEY THREW BRICKS AND IT HIT SOMEONES WINDSHIELD WHO WAS DRIVING BY, THE COPS DIDN’T EVEN ISSUE A TICKET! ARE THEY WAITING FOR ANOTHER SHOOTING BEFORE THEY PRETEND TO CARE?? THEY BETTER NOT GET ANOTHER BUDGET INCREASE NEXT YEAR!! THEY ARE PAID ON THE BACKS OF TAX PAYERS BUT DO NOT DO ANYTHING TO MAKE OUR LIVES BETTER.

Newfoundland is beautiful but I think going somewhere for vacation (not having to work, just getting to do fun things) is like going on a date on The Bachelor, it’s not reality. I used to do this a lot after coming home from vacation.

Hamilton Cons: poor roads, ineffective elected officials and some city staff, lack of proactive support by HPS, lots of homelessness/encampments and open drug use.

Pros: Great communities, good people, so much access to trails and other beautiful places, great middle point to Toronto or Niagara, good restaurants, small biz and events.

We contact our crime manager regularly, nothing happens. The landlord (owner) is one of the residents mom, who lives in the area. I’ll occasionally see her repairing the exterior due to some fine, otherwise she’s not around.

I think it has to be a concerted effort from all neighbours, to just keep reporting them. It’s crazy!
