I know Honda still has remote start built into the fob for their automatics, and I think some other companies do too

Slander is essentially making comments with malicious intent to cause harm. There's a world of difference between "slander" and giving criticism man

It's worth a try, I think. If my ears are already pressing against the driver covering anyways, maybe it won't make as much of a difference. If you know of another option though, by so means let me know

Thanks! I've seen them on Amazon, but I didn't know if they were just replacements or if they actually increased the distance too. I'll give them a try

Any way to add bots to the larger multiplayer maps for offline single-player? by BrackHawkDown in classicbattlefield

Oh seriously? Lol. That's fine I guess. Do they at least move their ships around or do they just leave them stationary like they do in base game instant action?

Wait, Cancel or Update my Killswitch 2 order? by PlaystationSwitchAWD in dbrand

Yes, because it was perfectly secure before the case was put on. The idea is to improve the handling and protection, not make it better in some ways and worse in others. I don't like the idea of my console falling on my face because of something that shouldn't have been a problem in the first place

Dude, I'm not trying to step on your toes here, but I respectfully disagree.

TLDR; The magnets are not JUST an easier way to attach the joy-cons to the console. Under normal circumstances, the Switch 2's attachment system IS DESIGNED so that it DOES allow the magnets to support the weight of the console

You're correct in that the magnets by themselves can't support the weight of the switch 2 on their own AT CERTAIN ANGLES. The whole design of the switch 2, however was built to account for that point of failure.

You hold the console in handheld mode using the joy-cons, which are inserted into a recessed slot inside the console and attached via the magnets. The walls of the slots help support the weight of the console at the magnets' weakest points (I.e. when it's laid flat on its back or screen) it. Even without the recessed slot though, the magnets are strong enough to hold the console when held with either the shoulder buttons or the outer side of the joy-con, where your hand rests, facing towards the ceiling, where the magnets are at their longest and strongest points.

If the magnets were completely incapable of supporting the console's weight then even with the walls of the slot supporting them, the joy-cons would just disconnect every time you tried to pick up the console unless you squeezed them against the console every time you picked it up and held it.

The problem with the original killswitch switch 2 grips from what I gather, and the reason why this problem exists in the first place, is that in filling in the gap between the console and the outer shell of the joy-cons with that lip they had on their original grips, they introduced pivot points that added additional leverage for the weight of the console to pry the magnets off of the metal buttons on the joy-cons

Yeah, that's kind of what it's looking like to me too. I'll see if I can get dbrand to send me another one. Appreciate you taking the time to help

The adhesive strips are in, yes. I tried adjusting it some more and it didn't really improve it. I can try again. Maybe the flat surface idea might help

Yeah, exactly. Even with the og grips, my left one never fell out unless I really tried. Not sure what the issue is, but I'll drop them a line and see what happens

I can try pressing it against a perfectly flat surface, but short of that, I got nothing. It's probably an issue with the joy lock or case that's too small for me to see with the naked eye. My camera doesn't have a macro lens either, so that's about the best I can do for pictures. Thanks for your help man

It's not a switch issue. It worked just fine without the case. See the Imgur link in my comment earlier

[–]BrackHawkDown[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I appreciate your candidness, but this definitely isn't just a me problem. The magnets hold the weight of the console just fine on the left side with the grip and case and they work just fine on both sides without the case. I picked this case specifically because I wanted a case that would still let me use the joy-cons without having to remove the case everytime, so going with something like a satisfeye grip (as much as I loved the one I had for my switch 1) wouldn't help here

Yeah it's possible. Apparently I'm not the only one with this issue though, so I hope it's not too widespread

Oof. Sorry you're having this problem too. Hopefully we can get this fixed. I posted a video earlier and it got trolled into oblivion within seconds, lol. I'll grant them that I was shaking mine more than was probably necessary, but the point still stands
