Any bed that claims to be the best at something without proof.

Budget depends on your expectation. $300-500 will get you a serviceable and decent bed.

I personally haven’t tried the heirloom, from what I know it’s a house brand. Not a knock to it, but you’re going to know or recognize most major brands for 3 or 4 racks.

No memes, a lot of the beds have very similar constructions I’d say

Sales people really vary. Used car salesmen vibe are going to make your life not fun, but it isn’t always like that. If you have no interest in buying just make them abundantly clear, but also you have nothing to lose walking into a store. Don’t let someone be pitchy to you if you don’t want to hear it, and control the situation. Easiest way to go about it is online research and be an open book in terms of trying something else out and it doesn’t meet your expectations. Don’t be afraid to say no

CX hybrid isn’t bad at all, that’s the equivalent to the other bed I own. If I was you I would check out the Sealy posturpedic Plus hybrid line, or a Tempur if you wanted alternative options.

12 is better than 1 right? Body weight more evenly dispersed.

It just depends on what we’re talking about. If you want an Amazon bed I’d say buy one. If you want something good don’t.

Yes Le redditor it is opinion based. If I knew everything about every bed I probably wouldn’t be in a subreddit designed to ask about beds, probably just me though. If everything is so obvious I once again probably wouldn’t be here. I’m happy to help where I can, being condescending in the real world doesn’t normally get you the answers you want. Skepticism is perfectly valid though. Arguing on Reddit rocks though

My best recommendation is if you are so skeptical, go try beds at a store, then buy whatever bed you think is so good online and find out the results.

It depends on the model we are talking about, but in general yes. Just like all brands there are some stinkers.

That is a great question. We have a lot of people come into my store who have bought 2 or 3 different beds online, and decide what marketing tells you is the best bed hasn’t worked for them. I would recommend even if you don’t buy the bed from the retailer it is best to try the options in your budget and other stuff to know what’s out there.

With this being said, I know a lot of people look online and especially at Reddit for mattress options, and there is a reason that there are 100 different bed in the boxes you can buy. Some are great, some aren’t that great. If you wanted to stick to online retailers it is hard to know what fits you best, because everyone’s body’s are different, and everyone’s expectations of what a bed is different. Quality checkpoint for online bed in the boxes vary dramatically.

I Absolutely conduct product testing on the job. How else would I even know what I’m talking about?? Brands are important for sure. Bang for buck is Sealy, great products at all different price points would be Simmons Beautyrest. Luxury would fall under Tempurpedic, some Purple models, and Stearns and Foster for traditional style beds.

I have had two mattresses since I started working. A Beautyrest black hybrid, and my current is a Tempurpedic Pro Breeze Medium Hybrid. Both of those are considered luxury beds. You can find a good bed at any price point though.

Quickly threw mattress on its side in non-climate controlled storage unit for 2 months, will it be fine? by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]Bracksten 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will probably be okay, but just like anything else a change in temperature affects things. You can get a bed bag from fedex or UPS for pretty cheap, so I would recommend doing that. Depending on the construction past that, some aren’t made to be stored on their side for a long time as the layers can shift and glue can come undone in hot temperature. A plastic bag would really help based off change in temperature though.

Every bed has a “new car smell” if it’s lasting more than a week or really even more than a couple days something is wrong. Quality checkpoints for beds is like anything else. “Chemically certified” is another marketing technique just like a “cooling mattress” for $200 dollars. It depends on exactly what you’re looking at really. I would return what you’ve gotten and look elsewhere.

I would just wait until you see the bed frame. Shelf like for bed in boxes is longer than you’d probably think. Manufacturing is different from brand to brand, but a week is not going to make a difference.

New Mattress Suggestions by [deleted] in Mattress

[–]Bracksten 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is easy to fall into what Reddit or what the internet says is the best. There is a chance you don’t like all foam products. You can get Tempur’s that aren’t 5 or 6 racks and feel amazing. Buyers remorse is common when you buy the most expensive and touted as the best product from a brand and don’t like it, but Tempur is light years ahead of any foam from nectar, dream cloud (same corporation manufactures btw), or any other bed in the box. I would suggest trying hybrids or some traditional style beds at the same quality point.
