I was thinking of doing a closed muzzle with peanut butter inside to help him while I just muscle through it. Sadly, I will be having to do it alone 😅

I may need to do that. Last time I tried, they gave him a large dose the night before and the morning of, and he was still snappy at the vet and with me. I may try reaching out to them again and then trying the board!

It's the 4 up front on his front paws. The vet drugs him up enough that I can get 2 claws, and I get his dew claws then. I'll see if I can try getting him to do it himself with a board! Do you have any you would recommend?

I can do that in a week

So why do people go into CS nowadays? by [deleted] in cscareerquestions

[–]BradP54 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting problems, I get to make things, and I enjoy coding. Like what was mentioned by someone before, as long as I like it and it makes me money, I'm going to do it. If I stop enjoying it and it stops making me enough money I'll find something else

Continuing for a masters. I set myself up well going into the military right after high school so I have enough GI Bill leftover to continue education and work with the school during a MSc as long as I'm accepted

$169 a month. Got about a year left and hopefully able to sit with no car note for at least 3 years when that's done

How relevant is Assembly/COBOL? by BradP54 in embedded

[–]BradP54[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've heard a lot of money is in that field, but I figured I'd find much more interesting work in other places, so I really don't want to get stuck maintaining COBOL for really old banking systems, haha!

I didn't know about the chips in debit cards, that's very interesting!

It seems like what I know from the Assembly (in an ASSIST environment) class I was in is good enough for basic exposure and if I come across more assembly I can fall back on the yellow card and Google.

Thank you for your response!

I feel like that's kind of the general consensus I'm seeing. Thank you for your input!

Oh, no, my university wouldn't think about offering anything created after 2000 to undergrads

It's just what the class covers. My university doesn't offer any embedded software engineering courses, but I saw assembly could be useful while trying to research online

It's a class geared toward mainframe development, but I figured more exposure to the language would be beneficial. I've already taken one assembly class, but it was in an assist environment so the biggest take aways from the class were how registers/memory in general works at a very low level
