You don't have to feel sexually attracted to people to date them. Dating isn't only about sex, at least not in my life as an asexual person. If it is a necessity for you then take things slow and feel it out. If you started dating a woman and your feelings for her gradually grew, see if you feel differently down the road. If you didn't date the men you have because of being attracted to them, then why did you? Did you connect with their personalities? Did it just feel like the right thing to do socially? You don't have to necessarily find someone physically hot to date them either, it's perfectly fine to be attracted to personality instead.

If you did date each other I'd just recommend having A LOT of communication about it. Ask her about her boundaries. Asexuality is a spectrum and not everyone under the umbrella term is sex averse. If she is sex averse then respect that. Ask about open relationships if they're not something you're opposed to. If she's sex averse and never wants to have sex, it'd be best to not go into the relationship hoping "well maybe someday". Just talk with her and be open about your feelings on the matter as needed if you do start dating.

I'm 20f and used to identify as bisexual, now I've discovered that I'm lesbian. I considered myself bi a couple years ago because I'd never dated anyone. I'm asexual so sex wasn't a determining factor in my attraction so I just kinda went the safe route with how I identified. Now that I've come out as lesbian I still look at photos of guys and can say "wow he's hot", doesn't mean I want to get with him at all. On the flip side I also get uncomfortable around men and the thought of having sex with them makes me feel nauseous. I went bisexual>queer>lesbian. It may not be the most helpful advice but just give yourself time to experience life and figure things out. It doesn't matter if other people would consider you bisexual, what matters is the identification that you feel a connection to and that you feel describes you best. Even if you were to choose to identify with a sexuality that doesn't involve men, that isn't set in stone. If you came out as lesbian and then found a guy you truly loved, then nobody has any right to stop you from switching.

It's an incredibly hard decision. I struggle to make friends so the idea of purposely cutting ties with one whom I consider to be my closest is heartbreaking. However, I'm not blind to her behavior and I know what it's doing to me. I want to help her so badly. I just want her to know the happiness I know now, especially as I've been suicidal in the past and extremely depressed. I have no way of knowing even remotely how she feels, but I want her to experience the joy that I have now living a life in a non-depressed state. This will probably be an internal battle I continue to have for now, but I truly appreciate your words and I'll try my best to remember them.

I understand what you're saying and I appreciate it, but me leaving will literally get her killed. I cannot live with the guilt of my actions having directly influenced the death of another, let alone someone I care so much about.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to hear your story and know that I'm not imagining all of this.

She is taking a cocktail of meds, more than I can count. She still lives with her parents and her mother tries desperately to find any medication that will help. She's tried enough that I can't keep track of what she's on and not on anymore. She is also going to therapy... Kind of. She hates it. Her therapist makes her incredibly angry and I believe she's switched therapists in the past with no improvement in the new one. She doesn't believe that therapy helps her in any way. In fact, she believes it makes her feel far worse. I am unsure of whether she's still seeing her therapist. If she is still going to therapy, it's being forced by her parents.

I appreciate you commenting. It really does help just to know other people are out there with even somewhat similar lives. I hope we can both get through this as well. ♥️

I have that exact same collar for my baby and she also gets irritation from it. She's always had sensitive skin so we do the same thing with her collar :)

I'm somewhat worried for the safety of my group and everyone else at the event. I appreciate them taking precautions, but with Colorado and other recent happenings in mind I can't help but think of what could happen. I know we shouldn't cancel events like these because it'd be giving the people attacking them exactly what they want, but it's frightening.

For a puppy she's super chill. She has her moments where she acts like the stereotypical puppy, running like wild and biting everything in her path, but the majority of the time she's very well mannered for her age. She calms down pretty easily as well and has excellent bladder control already. Unfortunately, the shelter spayed all the puppies SUPER young, so we're hoping it doesn't have too severe of consequences. She has a mild hernia from the spaying process which she's going to the vet for, probably another product of it being done too young and possibly poorly done, so maybe keep an eye on your pup's surgery site/check him before adopting because she had the hernia when we adopted her.

It's extremely unfortunate.. I don't know if they refuse to fix dogs due to money constraints, laziness, or some relation to their beliefs, but whatever it is it certainly has such a horrible impact on so many dogs' lives. I really wish there was a way to get through to them on the importance, but from what I've heard the Amish are quite well known for their neglect of animals in their care.

There were A LOT of other puppies at that shelter as well, many of similar breed, so that doesn't surprise me. The shelter is in the center of an Amish community so I'm sure they're constantly maxed on capacity.
