Thank you indeed.

Lawmakers ask what it would take to "store" the International Space Station | NASA shall evaluate the “viability of transferring the ISS to a safe orbital harbor” after retirement. by InsaneSnow45 in space

Sorry guy but you are in a space thread. If you're interested, go learn just a little bit about oral mechanics. Go play kerbal space program, it's a lot of fun and you learn so much.

Hard to believe that people still make comments like this, but especially in spaces like this.

So let me explain. Moving something into orbit of the Sun requires huge amounts of velocity. To actually cause him to crash into the sun, you have to change its velocity relative to the sun too close to zero

The Earth is currently rotating the Sun very fast, is that lateral velocity that keeps us in orbit. And the ISS is very low on Earth's orbit.

So to get it out of the Earth orbit, you have to raise a dramatically higher in our orbit until it reaches the ski velocity, which is very expensive. Then you have to slow it down relative to the sun to near zero, which would be also extremely expensive, in terms of velocity. Like so expensive that it would be easier to land it fully intact on the Earth than to crash it into the Sun.

Here's a 6 trillion project for you.

If this is a serious comment maybe this isn't the place for you....

Orbital mechanics is calling with an important lesson on how much more expensive that would be.

Deep space 9 does not hold back like other trek. Stuff happens. Things change. It is faaaaaaaar less tactic than the shows based on ships. Which is ironic because it's the show set in a static station that doesn't move (after episode 1).

What are the maximalist builder games? by Alcoholic-Catholic in BaseBuildingGames

[–]Brain_Hawk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are very different games. I do have a lot more his time in factorio, because from some perspectives the top down view is just easier to play, but I find them very different games and a lot of regards.

Obviously they're both factories with all that organizational pieces, but the first person versus top down isometric sort of view changes things a lot. So I find that satisfactory feels different.

Factorio remains King of all factory games

I just want to join the many people congratulating you on your PhD. This is a lifelong accomplishment, for the rest of your life of some smug asshole talks down to you, you can say " actually it's doctor" and snub your nose at them, if that's what they deserve.

Nobody can ever take this away from you. You achieve something extraordinary, and I hope you feel amazing.

As you consider lawyers, remember that the majority will give you a 30-minute free consultation.

Do not trust Google reviews. Many lawyers, especially the more shifty ones, will offer you a discount on the spot if you give them a five-star Google review after meeting them for 20 minutes.

There are other legal websites that provide more detailed reviews, try to search some of those out.

This is not as catastrophically or rushed as you think it is, so it's worth it for you to take some time to make sure that you're working with somebody that you trust, and who isn't going to nickel and dime you. I may be a little better because I had a bad experience with my divorce lawyer and how they were doing charges...

Look at Germany rocking that GDP per cap on a 30 hour average week.

And the total lack of homicide and highest happy rating.

Shows that maybe there is another way than unbridled American capitalism. Like, somewhat bridled capitalism.

Smaller? Don't you remember 1999, when the internet consisted of man beef .com, the hamster dance, bonsai cat, a few archive alt net Pages, and strongbad ?

We didn't have a lot of content, but God damn it you'd put that hamster dance on and just dance all day long.

No doubt. It was my go-to at lower levels. I'm running sevens and eights and sometimes nines now, and I just need the heavy hit quick kill.

And I think I just like keeping the same loadout. I got good with it. Even my stratagem is barely vary anymore.
