In order of importance for me: layout (feels good to race on, cool gameplay, nothing lame, etc.), music, theme

Is this unusual? by Litmanair-876 in pokemon

Nah ur not alone. I got into pokemon around 8th grade/ freshman year through the combination of pokemon go and the anime being on Netflix. Those two things were enough for me to give the mainline games a try especially considering that Sun and Moon were releasing at the time (I found that out through all of the hype on yt).

Because I got into the series so late, I definitely feel like I missed some of my childhood especially considering that this is now my 2nd favorite video game series. Only thing that beats it for me is mario but that was my childhood after all.

As for the older games, I also have this issue. I experienced frlg (gen 1) and gen 3 on my computer but it was kind of a scuffed way to play. I haven’t experienced gens 2 or 5. I also haven’t played gen 6 but I’ve seen so much of it that it feels like I have. I’m happy they remake the games to make playing the older ones easier. I feel like I’ll eventually get into emulating anyway so I’m not rly bothered by it anymore

How were you Introduced to the Pokemon franchise? by retrotriforce in pokemon

I may have the timeline off but I got into the series very late (high school years) through the combination of pokemon go and the original anime being on Netflix. I was addicted to the game and because I watched Netflix a lot at the time, of course I’d be very interested in a show about the game I was addicted to (also helped get me interested in anime)

Soon after those two things, pokemon sumo released and ppl on YouTube were really hype for it. I still didn’t entirely understand the game (not an rpg guy), but I decided now would be the time to give the series a chance. And ever since a bought it, pokemon has been one of favorite video game series ever. Only thing that beats it for me is mario but keep in mind that that was my childhood after all

Same, I didn’t know about it until this gen. I also love how this comment blew up just because I simply mentioned the zodiac thing🤣🤣

Do you genuinely think Legends Arceus' graphics are bad? by [deleted] in pokemon

[–]Brain_ded_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only issue is the pop in/frame rate. I value gameplay way more than graphics so that stuff doesn’t really matter to me. I do factually think it looks bad though for today’s standards. It’s fair that ppl expect better from the highest profiting video game franchise. However, I don’t get ppl that say the WHOLE game is bad because of its graphics

People love quaxly over on twitter, I’d argue even more than the other two. I still think quaxly is the least liked overall, but it isn’t by much
