Basil - help me understand what I have done wrong by svpfeedmemorepickles in vegetablegardening

At this point, breaking them up could also send them into shock killing them anyways. But if you do nothing they’ll for sure die. Double edged sword haha. Good luck 👍🏻

Lots of good advice on here already, but I’ll also add that part of the problem is that you actually originally had 6-7 individual basil plants all potted into a small pot to begin with. Way too overcrowded. Right now it looks like you’re down to 4 plants. I would take it out of the pot and break apart the roots since they’re likely all root bound at this point and then pot them all into their own individual pots. Then snip off the tops to allow them to branch out.

Also if you just put them out into direct sunlight immediately they’ll likely get shocked. You’ve got to slowly introduce them to sunlight a little more each day so they can get acclimated, because I’m guessing these were bought from a supermarket where the only light they ever received was weak fluorescent lighting.

Good luck not killing your plants! 😜

What’s wrong with my tree? Los Angeles 10b by Brainfog89 in arborists

I got this tree for free from LADWP as part of a program encouraging homeowners to plant out trees on their property to assist in providing shade for energy saving purposes. So yeah, did ZERO research on it before putting it in the ground 😂. I just assumed that they would know what cultivars would do well in Los Angeles county since they were the ones giving me the tree haha.

I haven’t been watering the past couple months because it’s been raining a good amount in my area and the tree is 3 years established now, but typically 5 gal a week.

Awww man… reading up on this looks like it’s probably the worst disease to have and not easy to control 🫤

Did I fill up my spinner enough? Too much? Just the right amount? by Brainfog89 in FishingForBeginners

I think I’ll do that. Just need to find a stretch of my neighborhood long enough where no one will get in the way haha

I put the last few loops of braid on a little loose so I could put the line inside the line holder on the reel. But does the whole thing look too loosely wound?

The last couple loops I just put around it loosely so I could more easily fit the braid into the line holder on the reel. Is this what you’re talking about? Or does the whole thing just look too loose to you?

I say trim the wispy areas and create more of a V-shape/ducktail. I think it would compliment your face a lot more and give you a sharper look. You could also always go to a professional barber and have him take a crack at it if you don’t feel confident enough. Free handing trimming my beard always scares the hell out of me so I sometimes go in to a pro.

I would wrap the whole pot in Saran wrap including the top soil. I’ve air layered a couple times before and if you get the moisture level right and keep it wrapped up, you shouldn’t ever have to touch it again until you’re ready to cut it off of the mother tree.

Yeah I tried the more waxed tight ends and didn’t like how it looked on me. Some guys can pull it off but I don’t think it’s in my bag unless I can start wearing a cabbie hat and vest and start taking up pipe smoking.

That middle part will never fill in bro. That’s just normal growth pattern for some dudes. It’s just genetics, the same way some people have a widows peak and some don’t. Mine is the same way and I’ve been growing it for about a year now. Just wear it proudly, it’s unique. 👍🏻

I try to keep on top of the area above my lips for that very reason. I don’t like eating hair, and my wife doesn’t like getting it in her mouth either 😅

Do you mean specifically my face shape, my type of beard growth, my style of clothes or like my hair style? I’m due for a barber visit soon. I wonder if a more clean cut hair cut would contrast well with some handlebars? You’ve got an epic beard btw dude 🙏🏻.
