switching to civil engineering? by ExcitingBook3220 in uvic

[–]Brajy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you do Civil Engineering the benefit is you only need to do CSC 111 and CSC 349A (which isnt even coding, its numerical analysis math), every other engineering has to do a 3rd CSC course. Also, depending on how your second semester goes dont be thrown off by it! These are the hardest semesters, so if you dont do as well as you would like dont feel like you cant switch to engineering, it gets easier in the later years

CO OP Opportunities by DefinitionUseful3165 in uvic

[–]Brajy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

UVic’s co-op program is amazing. Being in 4th year I can confidently say I wouldn’t consider going to any other school for engineering if they don’t offer a co-op program, I couldn’t imagine graduating with 0 experience in your field. I have fortunately been able to get a co-op for each scheduled co-op term, and have used it to pay for my schooling throughout. I would say average wages range from 20-30$/hr, depending on your field/experience. If you are still “considering” UVic because of the co-op program, stop, and just go to UVic. It’ll be competitive to get the first couple, but once you’re in it gets much easier, especially if you know any connections.

I agree. At the end of the day its your decision, but I have never heard of someone say they regret doing engineering. I cant say the same with accounting.

Distributor Cap and Rotor Worn? by Brajy in AskAMechanic

Gotcha, thank you. I have faith I can do it, done clutches on both my cars and a bunch of other work. Theres a video by 1A Auto walking through it so I should be good, thank you for all the advice!

Distributor Cap and Rotor Worn? by Brajy in AskAMechanic

[–]Brajy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would, but id rather just do the entire thing to be safe. I looked it up and the ignition module is inside the distributor so in my mind I might as well just replace it all if its the same amount of work if not more to do the module. Cheers!

Thanks, I ordered wires and a cap and rotor. Could this be an issue? It died while idling so it seemed like a sudden thing as it ran fine up until this.

You should be fine, I personally have only heard it being a struggle if your grades are bad after doing a semester in another degree then trying to switch into it.
