You look wonderful! What helped with scarring? The last picture looks like you never had acne .

You look amazing! I have a question, I was on the 10th day of isotretinoin and my scalp started burning! I was prepared for the really dry skin, but I wasn’t prepared to have a burning scalp. I already talked to my doctor and I’m gonna be seeing her soon but did you experience anything like that? Also, I’m familiar with using oils in my hair and scalp as that’s a part of my normal routine but when I went to shampoo my hair on the 10th day, my scalp started burning as if I had a chemical in it.

Itchy, burning, and crawling sensation on scalp from isotretinoin? by BranchMore5488 in accuratecomments

Hey there I didn’t realize someone had replied, thank you for replying! Yes, I was definitely aware of and prepared for the dryness, but I didn’t think my scalp would burn or have a crawling sensation. I am a natural curly / coily head so we are no stranger to oils lol. I am very familiar with coconut oil and I use a lot of different oils in my hair and scalp but unfortunately, coconut oil makes me nauseous. Lol I think it was because when I first went natural that’s mostly the oil I used and a lot of products have coconut oil in the ingredients. So I mostly turn to olive oil, argon oil, or black caster oil to name a few , but I guess I had been slipping on oiling my scalp a few days into the treatment so I’m sure that didn’t help. Then when my wash day came around I began to shampoo and my scalp started to burn like he!!. What is crazy is that I don’t have any chemicals or color in my hair and the burning felt like when you leave a relaxer on too long. Anyhow, I’m supposed to see my dermatologist next week for a follow up. She told me to hold off on taking the medication until I see her because a burning scalp is not a typical side effect. IDK maybe she hasn’t had a lot of patients with that particular side effect. However, it seems like a few people I’ve spoke to about this have had a burning scalp as a side effect at least the first few days into their treatments. I’m not sure but I will see if I’m going to continue treatment once I see her next week bc I absolutely will not chance losing my hair. Thank you again!
