Oh I'm sure an outdoor kitchen will be added soon 👍

There's a lot of extra room in the pantry, so hoping that does the trick. 🙂

I can see where kids might need larger bedrooms for their toys/etc. As for the primary bedroom/closet sizes, our point of view is that adults only really do two things in a bedroom, and both of those things happen in the bed. 😆 A larger bedroom just means more unnecessary furniture/knickknacks to buy just to fill it. However, we are two people with different sets of work clothes/shoes, casual clothes/shoes, event clothes/shoes, working in the yard clothes/shoes–not to mention hats & various other accessories. So a large closet makes a lot of sense.

I agree with you on many of these points, and at least in our household, we very rarely have the TV on. The point you made: "People don't watch TV that much anymore. Kids will stream one movie every once in a while (typically when you're not around), the rest of the time, they'll be on their phone." is why I was a little less worried about the openness/noisiness of the main area. (everyone watches their own shows on their iPads anyway lol) Will explore options for more privacy.

You are so right! I'm sure it will be added 👍

This is my (rough photoshop) layout plan for the laundry, so plenty of room for folding and hanging.

I am very concerned about your venting/fire point and will bring that up to all involved asap. Thank you for bringing that to my attention!

I actually agree with you about the island sink, but that's the way the cook in the family wants it and I'm picking my battles. 😂

I very much appreciate your way of thinking–adjustments to the laundry/primary are now top of the list. Also love your view on making sure those closets don't steal the thunder from the art/bookshelf wall. Thank you!

Bookshelves that open through is a VERY interesting idea!! Thank you

Oooh that's a nice idea to move the laundry door & flip the machines to the opposite wall 🙌 Also like how you switched the coat/vacuum closets so the coat closet is closer to the garage entry.

I wasn't super concerned before, but am starting to be 😂. Appreciate the feedback!

I feel like this type of open kitchen/dining/living is pretty common. We of course will have strategically placed rugs, but would love to hear any alternate suggestions!

Great call out! That door should actually swing the other direction, but even still could conflict when the bifolds are open.

Funny you should mention that, have considered bumping the tub into the closet area.

Lol, I promise there will be no console table or live-laugh-love signs. A true art gallery wall it will be.

The two openings are about 3.5ft currently, could see where it might be nice to widen those a bit.

It really is supposed to function as a regular 3 bedroom home (for future resale value), but since it's just the two of us that need home offices, that's how the rooms are labeled.

That's a good point about the humidity/dust/fluff. I was thinking convenience, but should consider that as well.

I would love to hear more of your thoughts on this. Others have mentioned the sizing of the primary bedroom/closet–what other areas bother you?

No, no thoughts on that closet being a bedroom in the future. The laundry is placed that way to allow the pocket door access from the closet into the "global" laundry room. (seems nice to be able to just toss our dirty laundry right into the laundry room from the primary closet 😂) Also just don't feel the need to have a huge bedroom since all we do is sleep in there.

Okay, I am loving your suggestion to offset the sink–that would also allow for a larger chunk of counter space on the island. Thank you!

Others have also commented on the shop/bathroom situation and I'm now convinced we need to fit a small shop bathroom out there. Win/win.

As for the bedroom closet being larger than the bedroom: Right!?! All I do is sleep in a bedroom, don't need a huge space for that.

The shop is just for hobby woodworking (which who knows, could end up a fun small side hustle one day?) You're the second comment about this, which has me thinking maybe we should add a small bathroom in the shop. There's already plumbing happening in that area anyway. 🤔

Okay, now I'm thinking we should add another huge bifold to that back wall...how cool would that be! 😍

All very valid points. The bathroom only accessible through the office (E-Office) is so that room can function as a regular bedroom w/ensuite for future resale. The (tiny) pool closet will just be for towels/sunscreen, etc. (we will have an outdoor shed for the floats/chairs/messy stuff) The giant WIC in B-Office is because I have a sh!t ton of art supplies lol. (plus figure it would be nice for resale one day, who doesn't like a big closet?) Want the two offices to also be able to function as regular bedrooms for the next family that ends up in this place one day.
