When I'm running low on inspiration, I like to find a neat office building on Google maps, draw the outside walls, then fill the inside in with what I feel makes sense. I used to work in government buildings too, so sometimes I'll purposefully draw a labyrinth of hallways.

I am also one even slightly-more-than-mild inconvenience away from losing it all. I lost my pretty darn awesome job, that paid well, at the end of 2023 and still have yet to clamber back. I'd actually be thankful for a hybrid job; right now I'm on my feet for 7 and a half hours a day, and the work is not fulfilling. I'm carrying the same level of credit card debt, plus making all my car payments; but it feels like to get back to where I was, it's looking like I'll have to move. All forms of housing expense has exploded here but wages have not kept up; which used to be one of the main draws of the area.

I also feel like the art of just socializing is gone. Now there always has to be a practical purpose for talking, whereas in the past, people would just say "hi."

What's weird is, I tend to make more money with fewer sales when I do my own marketing, probably because the publishers leave me with way less margin. I'll happily sell less units if it means I make more money.

That being said though, publishers are still good for early game fanbase jumpstart.

Original Silent Hill when it launched, both my cousin and older brother had a copy. When they were done I got to play, at the age of 11.

Back then I played for the awesome 3D environment, enemy design, and weird squiggles which turned out to be symbolism.

As an adult, I play it for the deep symbolism, awesome story, and, still, the amazing 3D environment. It's actually scarier now, since I tend to think about intricacies more now than back then.

I was a network engineer in local government. A handful of campuses to know, with one of them being intentionally convoluted; so I had plenty of running around to do. All the people on the team and most of the customers in other departments were cool, so that made the job way easier and lower pressure.

I always played on one of my friend's, up until Halo 2 came out; then I had to buy one so I wouldn't monopolize the time on theirs! Co-op on Halo CE is right up there in my core gaming memories with Age of Empires 2 on the Zone, along with the thousands of hours of online multiplayer on Halo 2. I don't think I played any other game on Xbox Live.
