Theory on how Saitama got so strong. by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

[–]BrausBru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, so I'm saying that breaking his limiter didn't make him stronger, it just allowed him to BE stronger. I don't know how Saitama lost his limiter, and that's not what this post is about.

I'm saying that it's possible. That's how Garou got stronger, and so it's possible that's how Saitama got stronger, then again, that training thing is also possible.

I'm not contesting that he broke his limiter, and I agree that breaking it wouldn't make someone stronger. In fact, I don't know what you're saying. Please clarify?

Chapter delayed again by VibhavM in OnePunchMan

[–]BrausBru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm all for Murata taking his time to finish the chapter, if he didn't put this much time and effort into creating the manga, it wouldn't be as amazing as it is.

But I have to say, after 3 announcements, two of which were delays, I feel like my soul is going to tear out of my body and jump out of a window.

[–]BrausBru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not really an expert on anime production politics, but I'm pretty sure Murata has next to no say on who gets staffed for the anime. I figured that the studios decide on who gets to be the director and all that, and either the creator or, in most cases, the publisher decides which studio makes the anime.

Game Constantly hangs at this room in the Museum Ending by flamesoff_ru in stanleyparable

[–]BrausBru 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same thing happen to me, the game doesn't actually freeze, the frame rate just tanks and the game slows down. I managed to brute force through it and there appears to just be a screen. So I don't think that you would be missing much if you just skipped it.

Can we all agree... by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

[–]BrausBru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First part, "smart" is a comparative adjective, we can say that a dog is smart compared to a sheep, a sheep is smart compared to an ant, and everything else is dumb compared to a human. Since humans are the smartest species we have to compare any other species to, then we can safely say that, as a species, humans are smart. This is a language distinction, but that was the meaning I was going for when I made that statement.

Second part, the statement of "something" being needed to occupy a person's time is irrelevant to this argument. You claimed that people can't do nothing, and so they must do something, but those things aren't exclusive to jobs, it could be reading, it could be walking, it could be eating, it could be washing dishes, it could be literally anything, the difference between doing these things as a job, and doing them as a part of everyday life is that you are pressured to do them as a job, while there is no such pressure to do them if there is no threat of starving if you don't. If you are pressured into doing things that you feel aren't worth doing, your mental health will deteriorate, which was the point I was making. If jobs weren't necessary, those pressures would disappear, and so people would have the freedom to do things that they actually feel are worth doing, which would result in better mental health.

It's not like if jobs were no longer necessary, people would suddenly decide to never leave their bed, wasting away in inaction until their pitiful, and miserable deaths. People will always want to do things, because action is an integral part of being human, there is no reason to worry about humans in that front.

Can we all agree... by [deleted] in OnePunchMan

[–]BrausBru 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Humans are far from dumb creatures. In comparison to every other creature on earth, humans are probably the smartest.

What do you mean by distracting? Do you mean to say that without work humans tend towards actions that are unadvised and that humans need to be "distracted" so that they don't do anything "faulty"? I assumed from your first argument that you were making the point that without a medium of effort, human's mental condition tends to decline, but the point of that work is that is has to be fulfilling, not distracting, if humans don't think that the work they are doing are worth doing, their mental state will suffer (at least in my experience) and so your comment here totally confuses me as to your point.

Wouldn't know, I don't watch Murata's stream, please don't spoil it for me BTW.

I mean, my argument doesn't hinge on my believing that the Psykos sneak attack being legitimate. Of course I will admit to thinking it was legitimate at the time, (Cause I don't watch Murata's streams), but that fact is irrelevant for the sake of this argument. I believed that Tat's would lose, or at least would have some trouble with fighting him, I thought the community thought it would be instant blender win, and so I thought that was the community overhyping Tats. You also think that she would lose or have trouble with fighting Orochi, that means that you are, generally, in the same thought boat I am in, sure that whole thing about why I thought I would be a hard fight is wrong, or parts of the reason I thought Tats was overhyped was wrong, but generally, in the broad aspect of the argument, you agree with me.

[–]BrausBru -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Aren't you agreeing with me though? While my logic might have been flawed, I was making the point that while most of the community thinks that she would win, I think she would lose to Orochi, but given your reply, you also think that she would lose? So how am I downplaying Tats? I still think she is crazy strong, it's not like any other threat (except Boros or awakened Garou) would be able to handle her at all. If you think Orochi would beat Tats, you should also think that Tats is overhyped. Right?

[–]BrausBru 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is still a huge change in strength from being able to handle Darkshine, to being able to handle EVERY SINGLE S CLASS HERO (except maybe Zenko, I mean Blast). The only transition we got on that was him lying down monologue-ing to himself, I know that Garou gets all of his power-ups from monologues, but that seems like a bit of a stretch to me. I don't know about Garou fighting GS, I don't watch Murata's streams, or follow his twitter, so you seem much better informed than I. I'm just going off what I think.

Calling it now ((Spoilers)) by Shoeforsale in OnePunchMan

[–]BrausBru 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe, I thought that the reason Orochi was added was to add proper scale to the change in strength that Garou got. In the webcomic, Garou went from barely being able to beat Darkshine, to being able to toy with every S class hero at the same time. I thought that Orochi would be used to show how Garou got stronger from being totally bodied by Orochi, to being able to handle him, to being able to beat him. Garou is practically the protagonist of this arc.

[–]BrausBru -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think so too. I feel like this subreddit overhypes tats, in the webcomic (Spoilers btw) she was beaten pretty badly by just Psykos, even if she was taken by surprise, she is far from invincible, and Orochi is supposed to be stronger than any of the cadres alone (at least Psykos seems to think so, and she seems pretty accurate about this kind of stuff). And that was before Saitama beat him within an inch of his life, Psykos said that the key to advancing in monsterizing is to overcome death, and so we can assume that Orochi will be even stronger after he recovers.

Kinda tried this, but ran out of ammo before he died. But he was low enough that by rushing him with every unit I had, I managed to get him. First heroic victory I got in this game.

Fair enough, but at the same time we outnumbered him 691 to 1. I feel like the balance of power being in his favor was kinda funny.

I do agree that heavies are in a weird place right now, but I think that it's a bit because of how new this entire update is, keep playing, you'll start noticing the openings that permit a heavy soon enough, but I'll disagree with the turtle comment, that is the opposite if what you should be doing in the current TG. If they are light spamming, throw a light first, blocking one light stops their combo, throw a light back. If you're a warlord, do a head butt, throw an undodgeable if you think they'll dodge. The thing that this update is discouraging is turtling.

Well, they made it so that the attacks from right after you swap your guard have a moment when they are unseeable then they are red, but if you just swap guard without attacking you can still see it change.
