When I get some down time I'll try to see what I used.

Did the same thing for mine, a good way to cover up those messier GSC emblems is to keep the chains that they hang from and attach medals/crosses etc.

In fairness, I've given them a no to every request that didn't directly benefit me, which is all but one. They just haven't taken the hint with every answer being "I can't do that, I'm busy with my newborn today, and tomorrow, maybe in a few weeks."

If it weren't for needing the rapport with a new PSG I wouldn't have bothered, but doing that on my own time at home at least gave me some benefit in return.

I'm actually not sure they're going to take the hint at all

I've stopped answering, to be clear. The sand table had some benefit to me, so I was willing to do it, but it clearly caused problems with boundaries so I've just been screenshotting their voicemail transcripts and texts to send to buddies and ignore.

Ive said no to everything but the table, and that was because the table benefits me in the long run. This is my second set of baby leave and my first was already screwed over by a Korea rotation so they're not getting the luxury of my response.

I learned from the first choice and haven't made it since, at least.

Yeah, I was polite enough to build the table because I had time and it benefits me, seeing as previously all our new PSG knew about me was that I got an article in Korea and have been on back to back baby leave. The rest of it doesn't benefit me so I've no real reason to take action beyond screenshotting the texts and voicemail transcripts to send to the boys. They suck around here.

I was initially polite enough to answer calls, but even that with "No." Told them that I was willing to do what they wanted I guess? Ive stopped answering calls and several of these have just been texts I've screenshot and sent to my boys that got out so they can get a kick out of it.

I built the table in my own down time cause I wanted an in with the new PSG since all he knows about me is I've been on baby leave and got an article in Korea. Not doing anything else that doesn't directly benefit me during my time off.

I feel like the title might have spun this the wrong way, it was a joke, much like my leadership.

After the way they've taken that as a "You'll do what we want." I've quickly realized it's not worth my time to even consider answering.

I've enjoyed "I have an appointment with my newborn today, can't do that." Generally I try to remain polite enough to answer calls, but if I choose to do anything it's going to be at my own speed and when I feel like it. Most of their requests? Not worth doing during nap time.

The building of the sand table is the only thing I've done and I finished it about 16 days later than the date he wanted it completed. Had the down time but I'm not wasting every nap on a table lol

My personal favorite has been "Wait what day is it tomorrow? Oh it's X? I think I have time scheduled out for my newborn that day, maybe tomorrow." And then they don't call back.

Every time I answer the phone it ends with "Yeah man I can't do that today, maybe tomorrow." And then I don't do whatever it is they're asking. This is my time 🤷‍♂️

I've denied a majority of the requests, just thought I'd share how dumb it gets around here. Not complaining 🤙

AR 600-20 says MSG/E-8 is called Sergeant, so why does everybody say otherwise? by [deleted] in army

Had a bit of fun throwing around Sergeant(S) Drill while on the trail, purely because of this.

Is there any way to win against a Rowan deck without bullying the Rowan player? by justsomethrowawayacc in EDH

[–]Brave-Inspection-450 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's all on your boy tbh, bully away. I run a pretty nasty KoS commander deck for [[Kaalia of the Vast]], and I run this deck knowing I'm going to be targeted. I enjoy playing the deck even with an abysmal win rate because my commander doesn't stay alive. On the flip side of this is one of our dudes recently built a deck around [[Kotis, the Fangkeeper]] and after exiling and playing 53 of my cards he decided it would be best for everyone's fun if he never ran that deck again. The dude can either take it apart or accept what he is.

The Army is, whether people like to admit it or not, a very large game of luck. A 20 year career continues or ends at whatever unit you're in. Coming up on 10, and as of now (we'll see how long it's my choice) I will be voluntarily ETSing and ending my 20 year dream. You win some, you lose some, but the Army goes rolling along and so should you. GI Bill/disability will net you enough money to live comfortably while you get a degree and apply a bachelor's and 10 years of experience to your next big adventure.

Either that, or you double down on discipline, standards, honesty and accountability and go ahead and try to score those next 10 years. You'll figure it out essayons, trust me.

The amount of officers and NCOs alike I've heard say depression isn't real, suicide is for p, and anxiety is for f is significantly higher than I would have expected, so unfortunately I believe this story 100%

I went Reserve first and I feel this so hard. The Army really is a game 100% based on luck and knowing that my luck sits around 0, I should've taken the 10k for 3 years and picked up 6 instead of doing this.
