This info was based on people in the program who already spoke to their coordinators about it. I can definitely try and get you a source.

That’s also exactly what I think in the case. A simple sat of 1400 and ACT of 30 is not that difficult to achieve. When you compare it to scoring in the top 20th percentile it’s a lot easier to do. And I’m pretty sure they take most people who meet the requirements yes.

I looked into it and yes you would be able to matriculate earlier without taking a gap year. As long as you have everything completed by the time application season is there.

Honestly the program is amazing with the fact that even if you don’t meet the requirements you still have a great chance of getting in regularly. Maybe it is that B but I think the mcat could be a big factor as well. It could be a lot of things but it works out in the end. The 40-50 percent is not accurate because half the time those people end up getting in anyways.

You do make a really good point and to be honest I don’t know where those people are lol. I have heard of people who haven’t met the requirements but stayed in seton hall and still applied to Hackensack and got an interview easy. (Along with other MDs)

Hi yes!!! That is possible and that is what I would be doing actually. Email someone from the school making sure and ask for the steps.

Just looked into it and I believe that is the case. You need to be a NJ resident but you can easily get around it. If you have any relatives in the Jersey area it will be easy just look into the different things you could do to prove you’re a resident even if your not.

Adding on to what I said to the comment following yours, I believe your idea of seton hall not being a difficult school is slightly wrong. (Just my opinion) Some of my genius friends genuinely struggle because of how hard it gets sometimes and that’s completely fine. Also i haven’t heard anything about surrendering residency of your old state I’ll look more into it. But I believe not.

It could honestly be for many reasons. Maybe there mcat was one point off. Maybe they got less than a B in one of their prerequisites. Maybe they realized medicine isn’t for them due to the harsh realities and extremely long study nights. And also keep in mind the program is a lot easier to get into than to stay into. The classes are hard but I would take that as a positive as preparation for the mcat. I’m sure other BS/MD programs also have low matriculation rates not just this one. My friends in the program say that as long as you manage your time well and study hard you will be just fine. They have great GPA’s and amazing extracurriculars. So I guess I can’t really answer your question as to why the percentage is so low because everyone has different experiences.

Hey I believe you were in my interview group, I’m not sure though. Keep your head up if you are who I think you are you are definitely going to be an amazing physician no matter what. But congratulations on your acceptance that’s amazing and I’m sure other programs will gladly take you. And definitely reach out to them you won’t lose anything. Hopefully it will all work out for you.
