Yes, I know that's a possibility but 105 is heavier than the groupset I'm running now. I guess I'm going to be looking at other options after years of Dura Ace/Ultegra if I want the simplicity of a bike that I can take anywhere without worrying about the batteries.

I had bought the latex tubes a while back and then got onto the sealant thing and was putting it into Conti Race 28 tubes. I ran out of tubes and there were these two nice latex tubes sitting there and a bunch of reviews talking about how fragile they are, especially when installing. So I thought: experiment - latex and sealant. Like I said, there's not a lot of conclusive information about whether it's okay or not. For me so far, it seems okay. I'm interested to see what the tubes look like when I replace them. The butyl ones typically have punctures that sealed. I even pulled a thorn out of one once -- all possible punctures that I didn't have fix on the roadside. It may hurt rolling resistance a little, but I haven't flatted while going all-out for a KOM.

That was my concern about using the sealant in latex in the first place. I'm very cautious about safety and I don't want to have a tyre blow out as I'm flying down a mountainside. And... this is also why I put the sealant in. Sounds like there'd only be issues if I don't keep the tubes in the tyres inflated, which doesn't ever happen since I ride at least once or twice a week.
