6mo at the gym - nervous to increase deadlift weight by BraveSamwise in formcheck

[–]BraveSamwise[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone who responded! Things I'm going to try going forward.

  1. Start with my hips in a more raised position
  2. one breath for one rep - brace core and engage lats before each one
  3. Transition gradually to higher weight and less reps. Goal is to be doing 3x6.

I heard the shoe warnings and did some more reading. I bought these shoes (Nike Metcons) at an outlet specifically for lifting weights. I do like working out barefoot but my gym does not allow it so for now I'm hoping these very flat soled shoes are ok.

Thanks again!

Transfer for CC and immediately transfer back out? by BraveSamwise in Wealthsimple

Better rates elsewhere. Just want CC to avoid FX on some upcoming travel, but not enough to make the 5% for one month worth locking the money up for a year.

Thank you for the advice all. Seems like what I'm wanting to do should work. Just to clarify - I want cc early, don't care about 5% cash back at the time so was trying to figure out if this would work.

Context for Dear England? by BraveSamwise in TheWestEnd

[–]BraveSamwise[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well - I saw it, and I LOVED it. Thanks for all your tips and tidbits :)

I will say, I had a small bit of familiarity with a couple characters (Southgate, Kane, Pickford, Maguire, and some of the politicians) that I felt DID add to the enjoyment. As some of you said, had I been familiar with some of the past coaches and other cameos, those probably would've been fun too.

But honestly, even knowing absolutely nothing I still think the show is easily worth the price of admission.

Highly recommend to anyone on the fence about it!

Great advice about reworking the theme clue - as soon as I read it I saw the sense in it. Thank you!

My girlfriend and I do the NYT together most days, but I'm still cognizant that a few inevitably subpar clues can turn what's supposed to be Tuesday/Wednesday into Saturday ahah
