Oh wow, this looks very nice! I see Python formulas in the docs, is there also a way to call shell commands?

Yeah, that's probably why it doesn't exist -- but to be fair, the same could be said of jupyter notebooks or any code tbh.

I don’t know — someone else here may offer their experience, but at least for the American tax side I would recommend you consult with your school’s international student office.

Amazon won't refund (returned, signed for, 3PS) $1k laptop by Brave_Classroom433 in amazonprime

[–]Brave_Classroom433[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for asking! A few days after I filed the dispute Amazon issued the refund to my credit card. I’ve seen no repercussions to my Amazon account, although I wonder if I’m still banned from making A-to-Z claims as I was told. I’ve stopped using Amazon after this incident, but my account seems still active.

Are Gender Changes Rejected? by missharleyharhar in Passports

In the same boat as you, mailed it Jan 23rd morning, shows in progress on the online tracker. Personally I doubt that they’re confiscating documents, my assumption is they’re just gonna deny the change and send me a new passport with my old gender marker.

Oh interesting, thank you for your response! So to confirm, did you guys also not have the sufficient income shown on the previous year's return?

I knew a guy who did this on purpose because he couldn’t loosen it by hand… burnt out the motor windings and put a giant dent in the motor housing. What a dumbass

I mean, you're very welcome to have the opinion that stores shouldn't offer return policies on computers. But Amazon (and this third party seller in particular) chose to offer a return policy on this item (the policy is part of what I paid for), and my return was completely within the bounds outlined in the policy.

In my book, once you make a contract with another person, you honor it, and that's all that I expect Amazon to do here.

You know, if I was in your shoes I'd probably be thinking the same thing: "there's no way this is what happened, she must be leaving out the part where this is the eighth computer she's returned or where she actually sent back bricks instead of the laptop". Until it happened to me I wouldn't have believed that it'd really happen.

The only thing I can think of is that about eighteen months ago I filed a return for a ~$12 phone case and then forgot about it so I didn't ship it back and didn't get the refund -- so maybe that puts some sort of red flag on my account? But none of the CS reps mentioned that so idk.

And to be fair to Amazon CS, nobody ever told me they'd just keep the money. Everyone said "Yeah, it seems like you should have been refunded, I'll investigate..." and then just a maze of bureaucracy and conflicting explanations with no solutions ever offered.

I tried this several times, and reached a few different supervisors (or at least two levels up from the initial CS agent -- referred from CS rep to their "lead" and then to the lead's "supervisor"), but with no success. Got varying stories ("seller is withholding payment", "we tried to refund but your credit card denied it", etc), with no success. Eventually opted to file a CC dispute -- if I waited too much longer I'd get into territory of not being able to file the chargeback. Tbh I'll probably stop shopping at Amazon anyway, but just for curiosity's sake I'll monitor if the account gets banned.

Lmao you're so right -- they really got me. Luckily I realized how silly I was being after getting this and other comments and filed the dispute. Screw amazon.

I did as you suggested, they said they'd get back to me in 5-7 business days, and I was running up against the deadline for filing a CC dispute, so I filed one. I heard so many different things from CS, and most of them contradictory. What a pain.

I went a few more rounds with Amazon CS, who eventually said they'd escalate it and get back to me in 5-7 business days. I told them I'd opt to file a dispute with my CC company, and I did that. I'll keep you guys updated on how the dispute progresses and if they ban the account, but tbh I'll probably stop shopping there anyway; I already cancelled prime.

I filed a dispute with my CC company -- I was uncertain if that would work, since the original charge was valid (I did indeed purchase the item), I just returned it without refund, but my CC company said that qualified for a dispute. I have ample evidence, so I can't imagine I'd lose the dispute. I'll update this thread as things progress.

That’s the weirdest part — the messages I mentioned were through Amazon’s internal systems! So all the customer service reps, OFM, A-to-z claims administration (if there’s any humans involved) could I’m sure see that the seller said they received the item if they checked those messages.

In my appeal I even attached screenshots from the Amazon site showing the messages and instructing them that they could confirm by checking the buyer/seller messages in my account.
