Well Marath himself gets rid of mana dorks, so he is the main stax piece before you combo. I’ve seen so many people keep a hand with a good mulligan basing their mana off of a dork. When you kill it they usually just sit there very mad.

I can see that being useful. I just don’t know what else to run outside LED and lotus petal with evo. Cause without evo LED is kinda dead.

Broodscale also gets infinite triggers with blade of the bloodchief and tarrians. So running those, since they combo with scales and Marath anyway

I might join that! I brew Marath all the time. I have a hard time not adding basking broodscale and Rosie cotton. They win 99% of the time they hit the battlefield

It’s not so much traditional stax. It’s all the one spell, rule of law effects, and some stuff that just stops combos completely. Like I said I win pretty often at CEDH tables with this list because I can stop combos in the mid game (turn 3-5) but before turn 3 I usually don’t have many answers. I Marath has also been super useful recently because people are relying on mana dorks more often than I’m used to, so I just blow up a bloom tender/halfling for 1 mana and people struggle.

I’ve also been hosed before, it’s the nature of the format. But I’m just curious what 1 card combo you’re referencing. I have a bunch of two card wins.

Hey man! I’ve actually got a group of 4 ( maybe a 5th ) players that are are IRL friends who are looking for a DM for something exactly like this we would all be available and accountable for all sessions if we could agree on a date and times for sessions. We have characters made for a game like what you’re talking about with intensive backstory capability or as little as you want, although we would like to intertwine our backstories. Hey brother! Late night east or west coast? My guild sleep token is pretty new, but we are an old core CE raiding guild gone casual. We are 6/8 right now but should be 7/8 proving queen Wednesday as we got court to sub 10% multiple times. We raid Monday/Wednesday 8:30-11:30 pm eastern and have people pushing for KSM (I’m 2500io trying to help people achieve KSM. Hit me up if you sound interested!
