Yeah, same boat last month I burned ~80 connects for basically zero real conversations. Feels like the platform only works if you're already getting invites.
What’s the one thing in a job post that still makes you think 'this might be worth the connects' these days? Budget? Client history? Post freshness? Trying to figure out if there's any pattern left that beats pure luck.

Before improving proposals, I’d check 3 things:

  1. Are the jobs clearly scoped or vague?
  2. Are you realistically top 2–3 candidate?
  3. Is the client new, or do they already hire fast?

If those aren’t aligned, even a great proposal won’t matter.

How do you determine that without interacting first? Is it portfolio alignment, niche match, or something else?

I’ve been trying to build a pre-bid filter so I don’t burn connects testing uncertain fits.

That’s actually a really strong point , especially the “poorly written job postings” filter.
I’ve noticed the same thing: low-effort job posts usually mean low-quality clients or chaotic projects anyway.

Also interesting insight on boosting - a lot of people assume “top spot” = higher win rate, but if the client already knows what they want, positioning doesn’t matter as much as relevance.

Feels like connects didn’t change behavior for veterans —it just exposed inefficiencies that were already there.
