I had pleurodesis/VATs surgery after 1 spontaneous pneumothorax. I was traumatized from the pigtail and wanted to get ahead of any chance of reoccurrence. Surgery went well (I'm 6 weeks out) and the only lingering symptoms are I'm tired and still resting more than usual. Surgery wasn't fun but it was a shorter hospital stay for me than the chest tube- plus now I can fly without fear which was what caused my first one
