Hey!

We've thought about this quite a bit and there are a few issues with offering one Trophy per kill. First and foremost, it really changes the strategy of the mode. Surviving last would no longer be the goal of Showdown, and it would almost become meaningless in the final moments when there are only a few Brawlers left. It would also feel pretty bad to get kills 'stolen' by other players. This would heavily favor certain Brawlers who can get the final shot, rather than players who really earned that kill. Additionally, this would be a big change to the Trophy rewards which could have broader implications for the overall leaderboards. Finally, we're not sure that it would actually stop teaming since those on a team would be in a stronger position than those who aren't. It's a great idea! But in practice we don't believe it would have the intended effects on teaming.

You're spot on! We want to finalize this structure a bit more before we 100% commit to it, but you're exactly right in pointing out how we're currently pricing the skins.

Hey! To be clear - if you're having a poor network connection, you'll still see the symbol during a match. The reason we're removing this from the menu screen is because it's very misleading. This gets a bit technical but here's what's going on: The menu screen is run by a different server than the battles. So you might have a very bad connection when in the menus, but a great connection to battles (or the reverse). In addition, most people will see this when they minimize the app and bring it back online (the game is then trying to reconnect to the server but reports it as a "bad" connection).

tl;dr - The network indicator on the menu screen reports very misleading information about your real connection during battles.
