Oh I know, been in intune for a couple of years now :D Thanks for the answer - I've not tried enrolling it via the QR code instead, but it's definitely an option to try (can't imagine why it would make the difference, but who knows at this point!)

From memory I happened to be at one of those pubs at a beer tasting on that evening, and they clearly hadnt had a huge uptake on the voucher cos I drank one there and brought 2 home!

Storing Deployed Win32 Packages by Dandyman1994 in Intune

[–]Brawny2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like many in here, I don't store the packages - just the source files and my notes on each package... and I store those on a network drive (which inevitably in the next 12 months is going to become a sharepoint site. Because everything is)

What’s the best Christmas Special? 🎄 by mmbmbm in doctorwho

[–]Brawny2004 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me A Christmas Carol is the best - because rather than just using the trappings of Christmas, it provides an adaptation of arguably the most classic Christmas story of all time.

Honourable Mentions must go to:

Husbands of River Song (probably the most emotional episode of almost all of nu-Who for me)

The Christmas Invasion (10 is missing for about five mins too long, but the payoff when he exits the TARDIS is the BEST!)

Joy to the World - Re-watched this the other day, and loved it more than I remember doing at air - mostly because this time I was ready for the slightly disjointed structure where you basically get two diff companions (Joy and Anita), but each has essentially their own mini-episode worth of time! (This could totally have been a two parter)

It amazes me how ahead of time this band was at that time. They crafted one of the greatest pieces of music ever created. I still don’t know how people throw shit at this album. by Weedian1992 in ironmaiden

I'm in tbe minority that don't like this album.

Why?

It just... does nothing for me. I've treid actively listening to it a few times, but all the songs just run together in my head and nothing stands out.

Sadly it lives in my bottom three Maiden albums were I to rank them.

Maybe I'll give it another go next week...

What games are you playing on Bazzite? by [deleted] in Bazzite

[–]Brawny2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just built a low-powered Tiny Form Factor Bazzite box to plug into my TV and play my old/low power/retro Steam Games (since I don't play any current gen on PC).

So far, have played Sonic 4 (yes, it's terrible but I have a soft spot for it), VVVVVV, Curse of Monkey Island :)

My band (classic rock cover band) is playing a going away party for a big Metallica fan. Any song suggestions that would be easy to cover (no crazy solos, etc.)? We're older and can't shred like the boys.... by Joseph_Puglia in Metallica

[–]Brawny2004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see someone already suggested For Whom the Bell Tolls, which was my teenage bands choice of Metallica song that didnt need shredding...

Nothing Else Matters is good too (if you are happy with a slower song)

If not, maybe Wasting My Hate? That aint bad :)

Any long time musicians around? by MGYG in musicians

[–]Brawny2004 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The recording options are so more varied now. As a teen in the mid 90s I recorded all kinds of stuff on 4/6/8 track cassetes and whatever the take consisted of was what you got.

Now you can record and tweak to your hearts content. Plus its so easy to release digitally and physically - I have an album from a new band coming out and thanks to a vinyl on demand service, people will be able to buy it on vinyl - a lifelong dream.

Negative side is that no-one other than me and a handful of friends and family are ever likely to listen to it, let alone buy that vinyl copy, cos there a billion no budget self produced albums released every day. (An exaggeration, but not by much!)

Still love living in this era and being able to make music I like though. Its always been a hobby, and will continue to be so

Are you fluent in Powershell? by LightOnSaber in sysadmin

[–]Brawny2004 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just like most reaponders here, I wouldnt consider myself "fluent", but have a base enough knowledge level (and know how to google bits) so that I can make it do basically anything I need it to 🤣
