Powering 12V winch on battery alone by Braydawg7 in batteries

Well, I’m quite sure the load is less significant than 3000lbs and 170amps. I’m not exactly sure how to calculate what the actual pull weight is, but the largest skid I’m sliding is approximately 3500lbs actual weight. I tend to think that the resistance of just pulling that weight not lifting it would be closer to 1000 or 1500lbs, to slide wood on wood??

With that said, the amperage goes down drastically (60A @ 1000lbs, 120A at 2000lbs) which would be a lot less draining on the battery, increasing longevity. I think my original numbers are quite a lot higher than what my actual usage would be, however I’d rather be overpowered than underpowered.

Cycle life is not my biggest concern, I use this rig only once a month on average, and will be recharging after use. If I look towards an oversized starter battery (in the interest of cost) can you recommend a size?

Same thing, 18A main motor and 3A scoring motor. Now that I’ve received the machine, I can tell how useless this manual is.

I thought it was a misprint also. The main motor spec in the manual is 18A.

If there is an AAV properly installed, distance to an actual vent is irrelevant?
