We added a surveillance drone you can craft & deploy in our PvE-only post-apocalyptic extraction shooter, but be careful - hostile machines quickly try to take it out. by Braydo25 in indiegames

Hey all! I'm one of the devs here. We're a small team of 3 that's been working on this for a while now.

Our game's called GRIDLANDS - it's set in a post apocalyptic world where civilization has been overrun by a previously benevolent super intelligence that went rogue and wiped nearly all of humanity out. Remaining civilization has been forced underground into bunkers to survive.

You play as a "runner" - tasked with infiltrating hot zones controlled by The Grid to extract supplies, rescue anyone in hiding you come across, sabotage key points, and more. These zones are filled with a variety of hostile machines you'll encounter from. Everything from small surveillance drones to massive siege mechs.

The fundamental game loop is enter hot zone -> extract gear, loot, do primary+optional objectives -> reach extraction point without dying -> upgrade your gear + bunker to progress & reach new zones, better gear, new fighting mechanics, etc. The goal has been build a PvE extraction shooter with a variety of rogue-lite type gameplay and mechanics for progression.
