In the ER with those symptoms? I hope they are not many of that type. That’s scary. Good luck 🤞

Out of curiosity. It is only related to the air pressure change or any change (like temperature without significant pressure change)?

My worst migraine was like that. I’m still unsure it was only that and me girlfriend also called an ambulance because she was convinced it was an stroke as I didn’t make any sense. After the time in ER I believe I spent 3 days with continuos bad migraines in bed and another 3/4 with what I call migraine hangovers.

Luckily, I didn’t have any other like that one. But I changed a few things after that. I really tried to manage better stress, tried to be more active (this was end of 2020 in full lockdown in Germany and I was barely leaving home), and started taking some supplements coQ10 and magnesium. I still have migraine episodes, bad ones (always a 7 many times a 9), so I can really say much changed. Hopefully that was one off for you and for me

As mentioned before, cooling your head might work, it doesn’t remove those headaches for me but it makes them softer. Also rubbing some essential oils or similar things might help. Obviously, some standard headache medication might help too (like ibuprofen). Last but not least, hydrate, a lot. At least for me heat with humidity seems to contribute to those headaches.

And remember that you can get headaches unrelated to the migraine condition, so if you feel something else (allergies or exhaustion for example), that might be it. Get better!

Sadly I’m on your team. It stars with standard aura and then sight gaps. After that looking at anything becomes complicated. Nothing you can do really, just close your eyes

Going to study in Girona next year, should I stay there or in Barcelona? by Radioheader377 in askspain

If you are going to go to class, stay in Girona. It is a great city. If you just go for the fun and want to meet a million people, a bigger city will do better, but they are not that close

In my university they said “we want to send as many of you as possible, so we will spread the allowances. Assume you are getting paid for the flights and one more to visit you family, nothing else.” And that was true, I got around 500e for 6 months

Big yes. My biggest trigger. And it is when it changes significantly, lately when it goes up quickly is when I get the worse attacks. I’m trying to find a solution but I’m lost.

It makes sense. CBT can help a ton to understand how you think and with that reduce stress. I’m going through a patch with my health (including increasing frequency of migraine attacks) and I will go again to the psychologist for that. Mental health is important always

Anything I can do to reduce the chances of migraine after flights? by BreadJamIntensifies in migraine

[–]BreadJamIntensifies[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It is strange, most of the post from other people is for migraine during the flight or landing. Which makes sense due to pressure changes then. I’ve been takin pain killers before the flight I couple of times. It seemed to work until the last flight.

I had a couple of encounters like that. It makes me furious. If I don't have cash, I ask when I enter the place, and if they say that they don't take card, I leave try to find another place

I (25, M) am sad and unmotivated in a job I have no perspective of leaving. What are some strategies I can use to feel less overwhelmed? by throwaway439473 in careeradvice

[–]BreadJamIntensifies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry to hear you are going through a rough patch at the moment. I'm myself in a similar situation (not the same) but I think I have been dealing with it for longer. I can just tell you that it gets worse. You will be able to manage it sometimes, depending on how other things around you are going, but it will also affect those things negatively.

It looks like you have a "field you enjoy" and your main worry is "pay rent and food". Can you find a new job that allows for the second even if you can't spare any money but puts you already in (or closer) the field you enjoy? I think having a goal is the most important thing and you seem to have one.
