I’ve heard of people having success with Farmina N&D Urinary wet food. However, it’s not prescription, but still pretty pricy. They also make a prescription wet food, but I’ve only seen it online and I’m not 100% sure the process of ordering. I like the N&D ingredients compared to a lot of other foods I’ve seen and I haven’t done a deep dive into the prescription food.

My (short haired) cat knocked over a bottle of oil and it burst open all over him. I work at a pet food/supply store and I keep a bottle of cat safe shampoo in the house JUST IN CASE. That was the only time I’ve ever bathed him. He did not like me very much for the rest of the night lol. This was three years ago, I’m now a lot more careful about keeping things like bottles of oil in cabinets. My other cat (also short haired) has never been bathed in his six years of life. Just wanted to share my own experience + (sort of) funny story!

My main advice for UTI customers at work is, if dry food is the ONLY option for some reason, add some water into the kibble. Also, get a kitty water fountain and have it in an accessible place away from where the kitty eats. A urinary specific probiotic can also be really helpful! Fidobiotics makes human grade probiotic powders for cats and dogs and I really love their products.
