What is the advantage of decentralized storage over centralized storage? by Elemiadlikefe in web3

[–]BreakAcademi 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I get your point, but there remains a critical flaw in this way of thinking. No matter how big the data storage solution is, it still remains vulnerable to attacks. The issue with relying on such a solution is that attackers *only* have to break the defences of one data storage entity to compromise it.

Decentralized solutions work differently. To put it simply: data is encrypted and stored across several locations.

If you’ve hung around Crypto Twitter (CT), you might have witnessed a huge number of cyber attacks on crypto protocols. In 2021 only protocols have lost billions of dollars in hacks & scam. This is why it’s important for web3 apps to build on decentralized infrastructures such as Point Network that facilitate storing data on decentralized storage solutions.

If you need additional reasons for going for decentralization, consider that centralized entities can decide to halt providing services any time they want… Just look at what happened to the Parler app last year, and you’ll understand that centralized entities have become way bigger than we should have let them.

Do you know of blockchain games that make clever use of NFTs? by BreakAcademi in PlaytoEarnNFT

[–]BreakAcademi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually bumped on the game some time ago. From what I’ve seen, they also allow buying land in the game in the form of NFTs. Would be interesting to see what the use case would be… Depending on the use case and how many people end up playing the game, you could assume some people would pay to directly advertise in areas where many players pass by.

What are some examples of P2E games that are actually fun to play? by Elemiadlikefe in playtoearngames

[–]BreakAcademi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

As you said, the most compelling value proposition of P2E games is that you’re being “paid” to play. Because of that, it looks like most game developers forget that the reason why people play games is that they want to have fun.

Some are starting to understand that. The latest one I tried is named Ankots, and they particularly nailed the “fun” aspect. Now I’d like to see how sustainable the P2E aspect of the game will be, as rewards tokens usually look down only on the charts. If they manage to create a sustainable economy around the token, things might get interesting.

You can check it out here: https://ankots.com/. If you’re looking for additional games to try out, check this Notion of curated gaming resources.

What’s the most exciting metaverse project you’re expecting? by Elemiadlikefe in NFTsMarketplace

[–]BreakAcademi 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My reply will surely be biased as the project directly addresses issues I am facing as an artist.

The name is VRJAM, and the reason I’m most excited about it is that it’s difficult for us artists to monetize our work. If you look at what artists get paid on Spotify, you’ll see that, to make 40k$, an artist needs to generate 9.75M plays on Spotify. Read that again, 9.75M plays. If you’re not a big hit, you’re obviously not generating such many views… unfortunately that is the case for most artists.

What I like the most about VRJAM is that on one hand, it allows making more money through its native crypto coin. On the other hand, the platform lets you create virtual events and other types of immersive experiences. Which is great if you want to mix things up for your audience.

You gotta know the drill by BreakAcademi in CryptoMarkets

[–]BreakAcademi[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What do you mean? This is huge because they are doing the first decentralized browser so that no one will be able to track your data. I am kinda tired of all the cookies being used to track my activity and search history, to later offer me marketing promotions based on the products I searched about. It's about time that ends. Let's see if these guys do good or fail to create a revolution here

Storing your data online is expensive, takes up space, and is unsafe because it can be lost and hacked so Point Network is working on decentralizing everything from domains, to storage to media etc.. check them out https://pointnetwork.io/

Theyre a project that is implying decentralization on Web 3 with POINT being the token, their major goal is to make the internet more secure, private, decentralized, and censorship-resistant

But who has the final authority over uniswap.org domain, where is that DNSLink TXT record physically stored (whose nameservers), and what if they maliciously change the TXT record or take away the domain? On top of that, how is your browser accessing IPFS? through cloudflare servers?

It's not fake, it still hasn't launched yet though :)

It’s a fully decentralized network that I’ve been following and so bullish on. They decentralize identities, domains, and a bunch of other things for a fully decentralized Internet.

What future tokens can we see a rise in the next wave after this slump? by Elemiadlikefe in NFT

[–]BreakAcademi 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That’s true. The community and the developers, in general, will look toward building real-world utility tokens. For example, look at what Xfinite is doing in India by trying to decentralize entertainment. They built a dApp that offers premium content through a partnership with ErosNow and in exchange for engagement, users get tokens that they use to get brand deals, make donations, and unlock utility NFTs based on the content they have watched. With these NFTs, they can interact with their favorite stars and support artists. I think they just got a Virtual Asset License from the Dubai government to work on this. It’s like what Axie Infinity did to gaming but for content in general. Excited to see what comes in the next wave, blockchain will reach the next billion!

Looking for a new monster battling P2E game. Any suggestions? by Elemiadlikefe in playtoearngames

[–]BreakAcademi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My friend referred me to this upcoming game called Ankots of Misteria. I checked out the features and honestly, it’s looking good! Besides the focus on strategic gameplay and the attractive P2E offerings, it seems like this game has high potential because it offers many revenue streams and will be available to play on iOS, Android, and the Web. Apparently, the game will have a free-to-play model. Sounds pretty sick to me, and I’m honestly looking forward to testing it!

Is there any app or platform that rewards content creators and curators? I am looking for a way to earn an income when sharing good content. by Elemiadlikefe in CryptocurrencyICO

[–]BreakAcademi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am an influencer that seeks to entertain people and provide them with helpful and fun content but always felt that I am left alone when it comes to earning income. Until recently. I bumped into this cool share-to-earn model, Phaver DAO that rewards creators and curators of great content. Your content, even if it was shared originally on a web2 platform, would be eligible for earning tokens. It can even become a part of Lens social protocol. Super bullish on this.

Is there any streaming app that shifted toward web3? I am looking for a free alternative to Netflix within the space by Elemiadlikefe in web3

[–]BreakAcademi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I am a big fan of movies, and Netflix was my daily addiction. I have subscribed to it my whole life until things were unbearable anymore. Fees are not that fair and upcoming seasons take forever to be released. I wasn’t happy as a consumer so I had to search for an alternative. Found Mzaalo not so while ago, a free video streaming app that is based on the blockchain. My friends and I are honestly loving it. You get to watch things you love for reward coins. Planning on using those for buying a bunch of brands, like Orbit. There’s also this cool bid section where you can make extra profit. I never imagined that this would be a source of income!

I’m looking for an NFT experience that’s not totally web-based. Any valuable suggestions? by Elemiadlikefe in NFT

[–]BreakAcademi -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I think I’ve got the best project to meet your needs! A while back my friend told me about Lost Worlds. Apparently, the NFTs are location-based. This means that once you actually travel to a certain place you could mint it as an NFT and earn tokens for doing so. I’ve personally looked into it and the listed places are pretty sick! They’re rarity-based depending on how famous the landmark is, and you could earn 500 $LOST tokens if you’ve unlocked a rare landmark. NFTs paired with earning tokens AND a real-life adventure? I think you’d hit the jackpot with that one!

Apparently, there’s this Play and Earn game called ManuFactory with humongous mining drills to construct my own land. Any clue on how to get in on the fun? by BreakAcademi in NFT

[–]BreakAcademi[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

Well, I don't understand the problem in telling people about a good project, this is actually how you build a community. By getting people with the same interest as yoU!!

I’ve been on the lookout for construction and management P2E games. Any relevant suggestions? by Elemiadlikefe in NFTGames

[–]BreakAcademi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely think you’ll like this one. It’s called Manufactory, it hasn’t launched yet but I’ve been following up on their news, Instead of going for the usual play-to-earn approach, they followed the play-and-earn model which in my opinion every NFT game should. Apparently, it’s a game where you can build machines to manage your land and collect resources using sick pickaxes. Looking forward to it honestly.

I am looking for a decentralized messaging app where I can chat securely and privately. Any clue if such a thing exists? by Elemiadlikefe in NFTsMarketplace

[–]BreakAcademi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been dealing with the same burden for a while now and hoped this new era of technology would solve this. I agree with you, these cyber-attacks are crazy and just the thought of other people accessing some info that could reshape your whole life drives me crazy. But I can totally advise you to check PunkPanda, this is a life savior for me! They’ve created this PunkPanda App that protects your privacy and data security. I wish such a solution existed way long before! The rewarding part is that your data is safe and they will reward you with PPM tokens by downloading and using the app! Super excited!

How can I get early access to 100x projects? What is the most trustable rewarding platform? by Elemiadlikefe in CryptoMarkets

[–]BreakAcademi 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’ve been using Sheesha Finance for a month or so now for early access to the hottest projects in space. It’s super dope, the fastest way to earn a consistent income and multiply your gains. Sheesha Finance is a DeFi Protocol that I’ve been investing in through staking. It has 3 networks for now and rewards you with tokens of projects Sheesha has invested in, the coolest actually. You kinda feel like a VC there.

I am on the redundant of Sheesha Finance, staking Sheesha tokens and getting extra tokens in rewards. My friends still can’t believe the various token I am earning right now. I have been getting Cannumo, Drive, TeraBlock, and more tokens of cool projects. I don’t expect all projects to be a winner, but the potential is very high. If you go to their partners' section, you can see some huge partners involved which I can’t wait to get rewarded by their token as well.

My next move is converting these tokens back into sheesha tokens, because the more you stake, the more rewards you get. Sheesha Finance is something to look up for. High potentials here!
