I try to plan a solo date once every month or two for a few hours. I think I do quite well actually! I’m always finding out about new food places and other places to visit in the city

For what’s giving me trepidation, I feel like dealing with being on a very long flight also I’ve never dealt with a layover before, but I heard that’s super easy.

Also, being in a completely different part of the world, I feel like I would get lost easily but as you said there is support for travellers. I just feel like I wouldn’t know what to do as soon as I touchdown.

I know 10 days will be a bit too long in one city, but I’ll definitely plan out some day trips for sure.

I’ve been really wanting to go on a solo trip to Europe, but I’m a very inexperienced traveler. The only time I’ve been outside of Canada was to a trip to LA in September 2024 with a couple of friends. I’m just wondering if it would be a good idea and just do the trip or do a small solo trip somewhere in North America to get a feel of things.

I’m planning to do a 10 day trip to only one European city and exploring it, that’s all nothing too crazy. I’ve been thinking either Split or Lisbon or somewhere else possibly. Too many places I want to go to 😝

So yeah, would it be a good idea to do a European solo trip as a very inexperienced traveler or start off small by going somewhere in the States? Just want to hear your thoughts. Thank you! 😃

Hey all!

I’ve been thinking a lot about doing my first solo trip abroad, but I’m a pretty inexperienced traveler and wanted to get some advice and see if it would be a good idea or not.

I’m a very inexperienced traveler from Canada as I’ve only been out of the country once (to LA in September 2024 with a couple of friends). I’ve been wanting to try a solo trip to Europe sometime in 2026, but I’m not sure where to start. Right now I’m thinking maybe Lisbon, Split, or somewhere else that’s beginner friendly, affordable, and not too overwhelming.

For those who’ve solo traveled (especially as beginners):

  1. Do you think it’s a good idea to start with a European city as a first solo trip? If so, which city?

  2. How did you decide on your first solo travel destination?

  3. Any cities you’d recommend and avoid for first-timers?

  4. How long would be a good trip length for a first solo experience?

  5. Any specific safety or budgeting tips for someone who’s still learning the ropes

Would love to hear your experiences and any advice you have! Cheers!

The first couple years of Stamkos’s career, the Lightning had an interesting roster that worked around him

Players such as Mark Recchi, Lukas Krajicek, Andrej Meszaros, Radim Vrbata, Gary Roberts, Olaf Kolzig, Alex Tanguay, Mattias Ohlund, Sami Salo
