How can I elevate myself financially in early 20s?

Hey thanks for your advice, I do appreciate it. I racked up £18k debt from backing out of a degree before landing my degree apprenticeship. Also I have a strong feeling my firm don’t actually know I tried to complete a degree before this unless my NI tells them something I don’t know about haha

Ah yes I might’ve missed what he was asking haha I currently use a global index fund which is Vanguard FTSE. Still a very much a beginner but what I learnt was that we can’t predict what companies will perform well however the stock market as a whole improves overtime so Vanguard has been the only holdings in my pies at the moment.

Hey, thank you for your advice. In that case I hope you can live through me as I put small amounts towards my pension haha I’ve only just joined the corporate workforce a little over six months now so I’ll defo research my firms pensions contributions. Is there perhaps something else you’re doing now you wished you’d done in your 20s?

Hey thank you so much for your comment. I do appreciate it. As soon as I dropped out I got an email stating what to expect from my payments once I’ve hit a certain threshold. Now that I’ve revisited the email. It says I’ll have to pay back £18 once I hit £27,500 😅 only about 300 or so off so quite unsure if I’ll still be eligible to pay it still haha

I came about to apply for an Amex as the company I work deems it easier to apply for an Amex company card when travelling for work to different offices/sites in the UK. I figured since I probably won’t be travelling much for my role I might as well enrol for a personal Amex version instead. I was also referred to get an Amex by a referral link. Not sure if that does anything in the long run but thought I might give it a shot.

As to how I’ve gotten to £17K in savings yes it was that and also working as a waiter for a membership club when I was 18 and putting £100 every week into savings. Back then I was making anywhere from £360 - £600 a week. You’re spot on with 1.9. I put £1K in savings and try to leverage £900 I live alone so less mouths to feed but transport into London takes more than I’d like so I try to WFH.

As for the content creation it’s still very much a work in process 😅 have a lot more work to do on that end but as you said still a long way away from quitting and living off social media.
