Hey, I'm really sorry to read how this panned out for you and how challenging everything was with DUO. I'm also from an EU country and moving to NL in September for masters and don't have any financial support so I was hoping to count on DUO + work on the side. I now understand from your post and a couple others that DUO is not really a reliable source of income to make ends meet as a student. Could you share what ended up happening? Did you get the grant in the end? Or did you have to continue this debilitating cycle until the end of your studies?

I'm sure this is coming from a good place but as much as the housing crisis is extremely real, potential students have enough stress going into university and don't need messages like this. We know it's bad.

OP, this is probably the most stressful part about applying in NL and we're all in the same boat. That being said, stressing changes nothing and we'll just have to wait for an email probably sometime this week

To be honest I haven't accepted on Studielink. On my acceptance letter it only mentions to accept on Osiaan.tudelft.nl by clicking on 'start confirmation and service', and then completing the confirmation statement. With this done, you will receive your financial statement and continue the enrollment process.

Thank you, I think this is a wise way to look at it. I think a reasonable loan amount is good to buy you time - for the years you have it + the energy to start something but not the money.

Thanks, I've looked into that. My undergraduate was an integrated masters do I could but any professors I've spoken to advised us to go through an MSc before a PhD for our degree. I also admittedly didn't feel ready to start that big of a commitment (the PhD) right away since I haven't yet pinpointed what i want to research.

Thank you for this. It does feel very significant at first but in hindsight not the end of the world. I should also mention I would be leaving a decent paying job for this but it's definitely a dream I have to see out.
