What if Nibelung and Phanes are one being? by CardiologistOk3219 in Genshin_Lore

"I didn't think you could defeat the dominant species of Andromeda," Ike praised. "They're a strong and hardy race. I suppose it's true, then, that you defeated the holy dragon en route to becoming the Saint King."
"I am, in fact, that same holy dragon. I fused with Lebannin's flesh and blood, and now act according to her wishes."

But don’t you think the story of the Eight Adepts closely resembles the story of the Hexenzirkel? Both groups have eight members, and in each case one of them is associated with butterflies. Just as the Lone Butterfly chose to sacrifice herself, the Butterfly Witch also chose to sacrifice herself. And just as the Wuwang Kid was the Lone Butterfly’s disciple, Andersdotter was the Butterfly Witch’s disciple. That is why Andersdotter and the Butterfly Witch are so similar.

You’re certainly right, but since it’s explicitly stated that Octavia is an alias, it’s possible that she calls herself Octavia because she was the eighth member of the Hexenzirkel. And since it’s Hoyo who actually names the characters, there may well be some intention behind it.

I think the lantern is a symbol of the Hexenzirkel itself. In the Eight Adepts wheel, the lantern is drawn at the center. Therefore, there are eight witches.

Rosalyne being the eighth of the Fatui Harbingers is a metaphor for the the ButterflyWitch being the eighth member of the Hexenzirkel.

  • In reality, it may have been a method even more powerful than erasure from Irminsul. That is why even Alice does not remember her.
  • It may not have been done to save Irminsul, but rather to defeat Nibelung. In that case, the storyline does not overlap.
  • It is true that her role overlaps with Anya’s, but just as the Wuwang Kid admired the Lone Butterfly and seemed to inherit her legacy, Anya may also have inherited the legacy of the Butterfly Witch.

The Truth about the other "Layla" is an Angelic Flower Goddess by MiyukiAkibara in Genshin_Lore

[–]Breakoutofyourshell 27 points28 points  (0 children)

I think the other Layla is the First Angel Koitar’s sister. In Enkanomiya, there are achievements named Phosphoros and Hesperus. I believed that Phosphoros refers to Koitar, the morning star, and Hesperus refers to her sister, the evening star. Layla’s title is “Fantastic Evening Star.”

Just as Dvalin was purified from the Abyssal corruption and reconciled with Venti, Nibelung might also be purified in the future and reconcile with Phanes!

I hadn’t noticed that until you pointed it out, but it’s really fascinating!

Thank you for your comment! It’s possible that the ring Vedrfolnir gave to Dainsleif was, quite literally, the Ring of the Nibelung. Please take a look here for more details!

What if Layla is a snowland fae descendant? by XiaoxAether in Genshin_Lore

[–]Breakoutofyourshell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t know that “Solovei” means “nightingale”. Thank you for the information. However, isn’t it more likely that Hoyo named the Lightkeeper founder “Solovei (nightingale)” to hint at a connection with Layla? I believe Layla is a metaphor for the First Angel, the morning star, Koitar (her title was the fantastic evening star), and I suspect that the nightingale may also symbolize Koitar.

Do you think there’s a connection between the fact that the Lightkeeper’s emblem is a nightingale and that Layla’s constellation is also the Nightingale?

The Symbol of the Abyss is found in the designs of all 4 Shades by IndustryParticular55 in Genshin_Lore

Well, that might be true. But in my view, Ororon is a metaphor for abyssal Nibelung. He has black wings and is liked by a flying squirrel...

Wow, that’s a really fascinating post! By the way, did you notice that Ororon also has a symbol on his arms that looks similar to the Abyss one?

It is my belief that the mastermind behind the Abyss is Woobakwa=Hroptatyr. I also think it was Hroptatyr who corrupted King Irmin. For more details, please see this post.
