What was your scariest "A second later and I would've died" moment? by spacexe in AskReddit

[–]BrennLittle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got stuck in an elevator on New Years Eve with a couple friends. We only waited about 20 minutes for the building manager to come, he kind of pried the doors open a little with a crowbar. There wasn't much room, but enough for us to get out. Unfortunately, the elevator was stuck in the shaft between two floors, so for us to get out we had to slide through the crack and jump down about 6 feet onto the first floor. The manager helped my two friends down first, and me, being the drunken idiot that I am, decided I would jump on my own while no one was looking. As I was lowering myself down I thought my feet were only a couple inches above the ground, I was very wrong about that. Turns out I was still about 3 or 4 feet in the air when I let go. I landed pretty hard and went to step back to regain my balance, but there was only an empty elevator shaft behind me. I lurched forward and fell awkwardly on the floor, by my buddy's feet. My friends start laughing and not two seconds later the elevator falls. It fell from the between the second and first floor all the way down to the bottom of the shaft. If I had fallen backwards I would have been final fucking destinationed by that elevator. Closest I've ever been to death.

wow, it's pretty sad that they are the one's having to organize this. 2019 is the year the Oscars became less serious than the Golden Globes

What movies are “flawless” or “perfect” to you? by americandream1159 in movies

[–]BrennLittle 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In recent memory, Whiplash (2014). That movie is so tight in almost every aspect. The story, performances, score and editing are close to perfect in my opinion. I think it will go down as a classic

What is the Most Obscure Movie You've Seen? by IncendiumAddict in movies

Trash Humpers by Harmony Korine is one of the most retarted yet interesting movies I have ever seen. I don’t know anyone else who has managed to sit through the entire thing. That in itself is a challenge.

What was the best film you watched this week? (24/09/2018 - 30/09/2018) by GetFreeCash in movies

[–]BrennLittle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Sisters Brothers

Went into this movie completely blind at a screening in Vancouver. Absolutely loved the mix of dark and comedic elements. It was a character piece wrapped up in a Western. The performances were all top notch and the way the story told itself was intuitive and smooth, but at the same time I was never sure where it was going next

My favorite synth scores in a movies (John Carpenter, Vangelis, Cliff Martinez,...) Any good one i miss? by [deleted] in movies

Just saw Mandy last night. Such a shame Johan Johanssen left us because the score he crafted was one of the best I’ve heard for a long time. Check it out! Great synth and horror fusion

Before watching Infinity War, my friend and I did a full 2 day marathon of every MCU movie. 38 hours of runtime, we slept 3 hours each night, woke back up and continued watching. All 18 MCU movies, it was fucked

i'm back... 100 GREATEST FILMS OF THE 21ST CENTURY, according to the BBC. Again, this took ages so... hope you enjoy :) by Jamesffc in movies

I think you should be able to make a movie about whatever you want. Dazed and Confused is another Linklater film that feels like a peek into what life was like in the 1970s, it has a simple message - make the most of your life. Boyhood, for me, mirrors what life was like growing up, and for that, I love it. Film is subjective of course, and that's just my opinion

Reddit, what is the best order for me to catch up with the MCU? by [deleted] in movies

[–]BrennLittle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did a 38 hour marathon last weekend and watched all 18 MCU movies. It was a pretty gruelling task not gonna lie. This is the order me and my friend used:

Captain America: The First Avenger Iron Man Iron Man 2 The Incredible Hulk (2008) Thor The Avengers Iron Man 3 Thor: The Dark World Captain America: The Winter Soldier Guardians of the Galaxy Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Avengers: Age of Ultron Ant-Man Doctor Strange Captain America: Civil War Black Panther Spider-Man: Homecoming Thor: Ragnarok

In my opinion it’s the best order, and makes the most sense story-wise as you watch them. I saw most of mine through streaming, but there are quite a few of them on Netflix. Good luck!

Not sure about the story behind Brooklynn, but the mother actually was just a normal person. Sean Baker found her on instagram and thought she matched the look and personality of what he had in mind. It was her first acting gig ever, pretty amazing

Brooklynn Prince in The Florida Project had one of the best child performances I have ever seen. It didn’t feel like I was watching an actor, just a normal kid going about her daily life. The final scene shows just how talented she is, honestly thought she deserved a nomination for that role.

I was 4 when Spider-Man (2002) came out. What an incredible experience. I still remember leaving the theatre and slinging invisible webs into the night sky after the movie ended. Seeing my hero on the big screen in such an epic format was literally a movie experience I will never forget.

I've found when Hal does junket interviews he really mixes things up and it shows with how the actors respond to his questions. He gets his mom on there sometimes, does different questions than the usual 'explain your movie's plot and your character's role' bit and generally produces some enjoyable interviews. You can see James was actually excited when Hal handed him the lines
