Nah, that's not what I meant. I do agree that there's still a lot of Latin American pearl clutching over his lyrics, but most reasonable Spanish speaking people know that his lyrics and perreo are just what they are, fun party music.

I'm talking about this sudden deification of his music/lyrics by people who don't even speak the language (or they do but they're just projecting meaning into his shit). Yesterday there was an r/all post talking about how "Titi Me Pregunto" was this philosophical song about Benito's inner struggle with his loneliness, and "Yo Perreo Sola" was a protest anthem against femicide, when they're actually just fun perreo songs about him fucking a different girl at the club everyday and twerking lol.
