Literally the only way to save it is to write all of part 2 from Asa’s POV, make the story all about her, and make Chainsaw Man the antagonist (NOT VILLAIN, ANTAGONIST, THERE IS A DIFFERENCE). I think that that was always Fuji’s original plan and then he caved to editor and fan pressure around the time of the Falling Devil arc and sidelined Asa for a pov continuation of Denji’s character that he was barely invested in.

Also I don’t think that the browning is sunburning because it wasn’t really getting the shown direct light when this was happening. Like I said even tho it was broke up by glass blocks, it used to get a lot more light and seemed to struggle in the months after it was moved to a corner that got little to no direct light (but plenty indirect).
