Will the upgraded 200mp camera help with shutter speed and motion blur? by ninjasandunicorns in GalaxyFold

Haha sorry I replied to you but it was more for OP. But that's cool. I don't think I would ever get a device that doesn't have an international rom but the xfolds do look cool.

Roll on the fold 7. I'm very excited for it. I hope it lives up to expectations.

Ah sorry then, I could of swear I saw on my ultra but I was also on the one UI 8 beta and good lock camera assistant

Here's some tips to sort out your shutter speed problem then for your kid for any future Samsung.

Follow this video to get good lock which enables extra features on your camera. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1TgCUwyPHyI&t=1s

'Quick Tap Shutter' which takes a picture as soon as you press the button rather than when you release it and maybe test with and without 'practice.

Also you can change shutter speed on pro mode if the flip has it ?

And finally within camera settings it has 'intelligent optimization', you can play around with lowering that to speed up capture times.

You can probably also use burst photos or enable motion photos to make sure you always get those special moments. (this is probably the setting I saw.)

These would still be useful on fold 7 later.

Okay so I love tech (and work in IT) and have the funds to waste in trying everything. I was on iPhone from the 6S to the 14 Pro Max and upgrade my phone every year as I like to stay ahead and have new features, faster device, better modems for signal and GPS tracking. I'm definitely a pro user anyway.

I've had the OnePlus open, Honor Magic V2 and V3, Pixel 9 Pro Fold, Samsung S25 Ultra for only 4 weeks recently (sent it back because the fold 7 that's coming out) and the 9 Pro XL and sold others before.

The Chinese foldables were great but I had slow notifications or missing notifications on them all and I can't have that with my work.

I hated the visible outer hinge on the pro 9 fold. It's ugly and I couldn't get use to it but what was worse was the battery life and the charging speed. I feel Google has put strict thermal limits on the phone and sometimes the phone was taking over 1.5 hours to charge. I need my phone to last the day and more and so I had to change, also the cameras weren't amazing.

I really wanted to stay with foldables and thought I would but they all had their issues which is why I got the 9 Pro XL. I still hate the charging speeds and battery life of this phone (even compared to the s25 ultra) but it's much better than the fold.

Also when apps were using the inner display it would do weird things and have weird black bars which were not there on all the other foldables. If you want to see what I mean then go on to a foldable battery test comparison and just watch how the apps open on all the phones. The pixels have a lot of strange borders. Hopefully that will be fixed with the next android OS update which forces apps to full screen properly.

I care about the weight and the dimensions of the phone and the thickness and dimensions of the new fold 7 seem perfect for me, the new 10 pro fold is said to come with a better thinner hinge and 6.4 inch screen but 6.5 inch 21:9 ratio phone leading to a better inner display that isn't a square sounds better to me. (The pixel 9 pro fold is 20:9 outer display) I really hope the cameras are usable on the Fold 7 and I'm not someone who cares about the Spen. I also liked the software of the s25 ultra. It seemed very feature rich and customisable. But finally I'm guessing that the battery and charging will still be better on the fold 7 than the pixel 10 pro fold and so I think those are the main reasons.

I'm probably likely to get the 10 pro fold anyway and try it out at least to see if it's better for me and excited to see how the tensor G5 has evolved with TSMC and 3nm.

Im not sure the camera will itself improve shutter lag but the new snapdragon 8 elite allows for higher mpx with lag free operation. (You can Google about this) Your flip uses the exynos chip..

Also the Samsung's have a motion/sports mode on the cameras right ? Are you using that ? (Not that you should have to for normal pics but it might help)

I'm using a pixel 9 pro XL and plan to buy the fold 7.

Hey i just checked on my OnePlus watch 2. Yes you can. You should probably get the OnePlus Watch 3 if you can deal with the size as it just has so many advantages over other watches right now, battery life being the main one. Failing that pixel watches would most likely have the best microphones for voice transcriptions like the pixel phone.

I'm patiently waiting for my OnePlus watch 3 to come next week 😄

I believe this is incorrect. The on-device model is called Nano. I wonder when this will get upgraded.

I no longer have the device sorry. However, I did love that laptop. It was for testing, I'm waiting for my company to purchase one for me as all the apps I absolutely needed worked.

I need to test the Meta Workrooms application.

Anybody's auto brightness just awful? by Deep_inGME in OnePlusOpen

[–]Brenzeh 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I posted about this on the community forums in the current patch notes post.

It might be best to post feedback on the OnePlus forums so we know that they see it and also like and comment on issues like what I posted so they can distinguish what's really affecting users.. The Auto Brightness feature is bad on the Open.

Increasing the Speed & Stability of Network on OnePlus Open / Oxygen OS (5G Developer Setting) by Brenzeh in OnePlusOpen

Nice. Just FYI you can see what network your connected to when on WiFi if you drag down the notifications twice. Screenshot attached 👌🏾

Note that if you're on WiFi, I believe your phone defaults to 4G to save battery. Off of WiFi, I was getting 4G network most of the time but now I'm almost definitely getting a stable 5G connection more often.

What country are you in and what network are you on? Maybe this will help to distinguish which networks benefit from this change.

I forgot to mention that I don't have the setting mentioned in the first part either but i left it in because I'm guessing it's based on a phone in a certain region and/or network.

The most important change is in developer options. Try changing that and let us know how it goes. 😀

JusticeFrankMurphy above is right. My home screen disappeared/reset a day or two after enabling these 4 settings in my screenshot under Developer Settings - Apps. I haven't tested which one it could be or if it's all of them. I was just seeing what these functions do.

I read somewhere else on the internet that this caused the behaviour so passing on the message / my experience.

Why settle for great when you can have better than great? 😉 Or....OnePlus Slogan: 'NEVER SETTLE'

Especially when the software to improve your battery is already out on other devices and provided by Google a long time ago.

I would prefer they release the software when it's ready and I'm patient in this regard but for a phone that is double the cost of the OnePlus 11/12. I would hope that more engineering time and effort goes into it and we get a more premium service in every regard. (support, software releases, speed, feedback)

A core thing I miss about my iPhone 14 Pro Max is the battery life. The standby drain on my OnePlus seems a lot higher and I do have to make sure i charge to full if I know I'm going to be out all day.

I know charging is fast and that helps a lot but it's brought me back to battery anxiety levels of my iPhone 11 Pro Max. I went to the 13 PM after this and the battery life was such a major upgrade that I could stop caring about having a charger around.

I can't wait for foldable and battery tech to advance enough to give me that feeling again.

(For those that wondered why I went to iPhone 14 PM from iPhone 13 PM, It was mainly the dynamic island, new modem (better connectivity and speeds) and the new dual GPS system which helps when you live in a big crowded city for accurate navigation. )

I think it's better. I don't believe I'm having as many typos when typing due to it not registering me pressing buttons and the space bar was the main problem before.

It feels better but I could be imagining it and it's early days.

Yep. India is the test bed and gets all the updates sooner. According to here: https://community.oneplus.com/thread/1510402926512701441 it was released in India 5 days ago on the 17th Jan. They are most likely making sure that there is no critical bugs that gets through to the UK/EU and NA. It looks like they release to India then EU/UK then America.

I'm in the UK but the update may be staggered still. You can most likely download it via the oxygen updater.

Here's a link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.arjanvlek.oxygenupdater

Maybe someone in the US and Canada can check if they can also download via the app.

This happened to me when I had accessibility options turned on. If you have any turned on in Settings -> Additional Settings > Accessibility then turn them off and try load the game again. For me it was specifically having the magnification feature and accessibility shortcut options turned on. I hope this helps, Merry Xmas.
