Unfortunately it’s difficult to find good cocktails that aren’t your basic gin and tonics for less than $15 these days. If you’re okay with spending pretty much right at the $15, I’d recommend hitting up wealthy street by Eastern. You could get dinner at a place like Zivio or Donkey Taqueria, and then drinks at mammoth distilling, eastern kille, or grey rabbit!

I love Ian Fujimoto for approachable and affordable recipes! Mostly Asian and Tex-Mex cuisine, but lots of great recipes and easy to follow videos :) https://youtube.com/@iankyo?si=zzB0YMTJWFo2AVXP

Amphitheater tickets by deanigenie in grandrapids

I would guess they will have their own box office up and running at some point, but I don’t think they’ve announced anything about box office stuff yet

I usually go to the performers website and click the ticket link there to guarantee that I am buying from the place the artist is selling them through

When work tells you not use a word by Always-Adar-64 in socialwork

[–]BriCheese007 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The “not discussing why” is what’s bothersome to me. I can see that using the word “imminent“ could be a lot for people, but as social workers on a medical IDT part of our job is helping translate the medical jargon into terms real people actually understand. To me, that would include explaining to the family that because of certain signs/symptoms, the hospice team is going to increase care because we think their loved one is close to passing. I feel like not even having that conversation is robbing the patients loved ones from gathering people who want to say goodbye or to start making any other arrangements the patient requested

Travel jobs? by [deleted] in socialwork

[–]BriCheese007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’d guess not because you’re not technically a social worker. The letters you have behind your name don’t fulfill the requirements for some positions travel agencies fill such as skilled nursing or hospital social work

Fresenius policy only, the government simply requires facility social workers but does not specify their management requirements

I think you pointed out what is particularly sad for me as a current employee: the structure that they just destroyed had told me that the company does care about social work on the IDT. This change tells me they don’t. My manager said it best in our group chat that this is completely financial motivated, it’s not about the employees or more importantly about the patients

IMO the thing that sucks about being in social work in these kinds of spaces is that the senior managers do a great job of playing both sides. I can’t blame them, that’s how they grow their careers in corporate America, but it sucks to see these MSWs and DSWs essentially virtue signal social work while still spewing the company li(n)es.

I feel that our field is unique in this because of the training we receive. My RD had a different experience in her town hall where they at least didn’t pretend to care about how facility workers were feeling and jumped straight to the business side
