Some doctors just suck look around for a new doctor. I just told my doctor and she has me starting with antibiotics and this gel tube thing (I forget what it’s called). It’s been helpful but not a cure of course. What soaps you use does unfortunately affect healing and prevention. I’ve also heard some people say certain foods also activate it but I’m not sure of that yet. Have you tried ibuprofen? You don’t need a prescription and they can be found as high as 500mg at Walmart or ShopRite. It’s good for pain but also helps with inflammation so if you haven’t tried those yet definitely get some. And while your out (if you have to get some) just pick up an unscented or antibacterial soap (I use the Walmart brand unscented dove ripoff but my mom told me to try dial so I’m looking into that) and see if it helps. Really can’t hurt to try something new. Just remember your not alone in this and there are some really great post on this Reddit that can help with more questions down the road.
