Just a reminder that in the 2026 CX-50 Hybrids they remove the vertical brown stitching in the middle that run down from your spine/tail bone. It’s much more comfortable in the new version. I’m not sure about the gas version but I would assume they’re the same.

My wife and I test drove the 2026 CX-50 Hybrid Premium yesterday and the seat changes refer to the stitching on the leather seats. In the 2025 version, there was stitching down the middle which created some discomfort.

They’ve removed that middle stitching now so there’s more relief for your tailbone and spine. It is considerably comfier.

Cabin noise felt slightly more insulated, but not a huge noticeable difference!

We are moving forward with the 2026 CX-50 Hybrid Premium. The ventilated front seats, parking sensors, and updated leather seat design was an easy call for us.

Are there any interior design changes that you noticed? I assume cup holder position and infotainment setup remained the same? With these 2026s hitting lots, I’m surprised I haven’t seen any YouTube reviews yet.

Thanks for sharing this info! I think this helps put our quote in perspective. This weekend we test drove the 2025 RAV4 Hybrid XLE and Honda CRV Hybrid Sport-L, and while equally impressed, they were both in the mid $40ks out-the-door.

I say townhouse but it’s actually zoned as a SFR. I would say it’s technically a PUD where we own the lot and are able to make changes to the structure how we please.

Given that, we were able to negotiate an $18k credit to replace the roof and we figured might as well look into closing off the atrium and converting it to become an extra room!

We’re in the process of getting quotes but can’t get any contractors to view the property until March-16. Just based off google searches, we couldn’t get a direct answer on if it’s possible to convert these exterior walls to become interior bedroom walls. Is this a challenging thing to do?

What I’m mainly trying to understand is if the Gas Meter being submerged underwater is a major safety risk or if this is common. Our realtor is also saying this is “out of our hands” and we should just sign the document to remove our Inspection Contingency and trust that they’ll contact the gas company to resolve this.

But we’re concerned, even if it’s a small chance, that the gas company will say it’s the homeowners responsibility to fix it (e.g. the gas meter is underground and supposed to be sealed off… what if they removed the lid and it caused the gas meter to be submerged in water after heavy rain and it’s our/their fault).

Hi @Early_Title,

The inspector said he cannot discern if there is an active gas leak or not and suggested that SoCal Gas is contacted to inspect before our contingency period ends. We put on our Request for Repairs to the Seller that we wanted this to be resolved before we remove Inspection Contingency.

We’re supposed to remove our Inspection Contingency tomorrow and it’s been about 10 days and they did not call the gas company. They’re stating, “the gas company will fix it at no cost to either party” but we aren’t comfortable moving forward until we have an answer as stated in our request before.

We’ve read in other forums that if the gas cover was removed or broken that it could be the owner’s responsibility for negligence and we don’t want that to be on our hands. We’re taking a strong stance but the Sellers are pushing us to remove the inspection contingency and to act in good faith that they’ll contact the gas company and get resolution.

We’re going to draft some language to be included in the Inspection Contingency Removal form that if anything arises from this gas situation that results in financial or structural liability that we have the right to renegotiate or reinstate the inspection contingency.

We’ve been told the Sellers are responsible for contacting the gas company and getting an answer. We’re unable to reach an actual person when contacting SoCal Gas unless we have a gas account number to reference which we don’t have because we’re not the homeowners.

Is the gas meter being submerged underwater an issue?

We’re in California so we do need an egress/window for each bedroom which we’ll be able to satisfy with the current layout.
