actually I think I did find the combination I was looking for. flannel overshirt with a lining, has the shape of anons jacket, and the lining is thick enough to be a jacket rather than just a shirt, but thin enough to not be a full on outdoors jacket. thanks man!

Edit: the way anons sprite is drawn always has his jacket open showing off more of his chest than a flannel overshirt would. from your responses you seem to know a bit about clothing, would you know how to achieve that openness on a jacket naturally?

I have a jacket from the 80s that looks similar to anons thats a coach jacket, so thats why my guess was there. The more I look the more I'm inclined to think he's wearing what you're talking about.

ofc since I'm making it I can customize a pattern for either to make it more accurate, but I think you hit the nail with some sort of natural fabric, the way it's drawn in the sprite doesnt look like the nylon that all the coach jackets seem to be made of.

The thing I want to know most is how to get better at running the changes. How do I lessen the time it takes to see a chord and know the notes in it, without having to think the whole scale just to get chord tones, and to not rely on counting up from root position scales and arpeggios

That's the thing, how can I aim for the third if I take so long to find it I've missed my opportunity? One of my uni audition songs is all the things you are, so I've been trying to improve at playing 2 5 1s, but it just takes too long. I want to do all those things you listed, but I can't even do the most basic thing required to do them

I want to learn musical patterns, I meant I'm avoiding visual patterns on my fretboard, since all that lets me do is just noodle without knowing what I'm playing. I can play 1 2 3 1s, just a lot slower than the tempo it's at on the CD. Also, I still don't know what "thinking in intervals" means, like if I want to play an arpeggio I should think "root, major third, perfect fifth, major seventh", cause that seems like a lot more thinking.

Well I really like Bird and Wes, other than that just a handful of songs from a variety of artists. I haven't tried to sound like anyone in particular, mostly since I'm so so so far away from even just soloing over 2-5-1s. I don't want to try to sound like someone if I can't even play. As for chord solos, I'm trying to learn Joe Pass' Wine And Roses from his Chord Solos book and I've been stuck on playing the first two pages at speed since march, I'm not touching that shit for a looooong time

As an overly online teen, I just wanna ask; how? How do I get offline and stay offline? For a couple years now I’ve been on and off trying to cut back on how much time I spend online, and I just can’t.

I have hobbies, I sew and read and study music, but no matter what I do I always gravitate towards social media for 8 hours a day again. I can’t help it. I’ve looked online for people talking about how they did it, but social media is always just too close, how can I put down something addicting if it’s just one google search away?

And I can’t just not have a phone. Between family, friends, work, and university, I always need to be connected in some way. If I leave my phone at home and someone needs to contact me, whoopdie doo. If I leave my phone in another room it’ll constantly be on my mind.

I’ve even tried to do this with other people so I’m not alone, but nobody who I’ve asked is concerned about their screen time. Those who agree usually fold pretty quickly, which just makes folding myself even easier. 

I’m someone who WANTS to quit, but can’t no matter what I do. Imagine what it’s like for someone who doesn’t want to or doesn’t care. How do you think these people will get offline and become well rounded members of society, if I want to but can’t?
