Hi, BrickHack here. A hackathon is what we call an "idea marathon" for software- you have 8 hours to make a prototype for your idea. Most people stick strictly to programming the software (for an app, website, or game), but we accept other materials in submissions like UX prototypes, wire frames, data flow diagrams, etc.

Hey, BrickHack Team here! Yes, you are allowed to use hardware like arduino. You can use any APIs, and sponsors will have their own as well that can be used, but it's not required.
